Because they don't want to explain it to you, and even if they did, most kids wouldn't agree with their parents logic. 'Because I said so' really means 'because the explanation doesn't matter in the long run, obey me or face the consequences'. It only ever works if the parents always make good on their threats, or you actually trust their judgment.
