I just wait patiently until they finish singing, but the awkwardness isn't over yet. In my family we have this tradition where after they sing for you, you sing "I am __ years old now! I am __ years old now! I am__ years old now! I am__years old now!" to the same melody. It's not a must, but everyone gets disappointed if you don't.

Eh,I got used to it, and I'm a singer anyway. Most of the girls in my family do it, but the boys think they are too much of men to do it, lol. I can't imagine doing that when I'm like in my 30s or even 20s, so I'll stop eventually.
