Honestly, why are you taking fictional shows so literally? The whole point is about a talking sponge who fry cooks and lives in a pineapple. Under the sea... So the fact that they drive boats confuses you?

1. He has a snail that meows. 2. In almost every fourth episode, the town is somehow destroyed by FIRE when they're underwater. 3. He lives in a pineapple. 4. He is a kitchen sponge. 5. His best friend is a starfish, who in real life wouldn't have a brain. 6. He makes hamburgers underwater. 7. The fish walk, they don't swim. and the BOATS bother you?!?!?!
