+650 How hard is it for filmmakers to just STICK to books when making movies off of them. If they did, everyone would be happy. Why fix something that wasn't broken in the first place? amirite?

Who wants to spend an hour and a half watching a recap of what they just read? They add twists. BUT sometimes those twists are shit.

Hmm, you made a good point. :) But seriously, Hollywood does screw it up the majority of the time.

fffuck. Have you seen a walk to remember? The movie pissed me off -.- Nothing like the book. I felt like crying

Cause it would be way too long, and retards with short attention spans won't watch it :/

Some scenes will work better on film than others, so it's okay to change a little here and there. But they should stick to the important parts of the storyline and make sure it all still makes sense, which they often fail to do.

Holy crap I know. Have u read Eragon? Fantastic book, but the movie sucked some major ass. They changed like 20 MAJOR things. Seriously I made a list.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree, but sometimes they need to change it for length or to attract people that didn't read it

I know! It's okay to cut out a few minor scenes that don't add anything like in the Harry Potter movie, but it's just wrong to cut out subplots or add major events that didn't happen like in the Percy Jackson movie or the Series Of Unfortunite Events movie.

Well most things in books are going on in the charicter's head i.e. Harry Potter liking Ginny to himself. But no one would know so he tells Hermione. But sometimes they change major things. Hate that.

I take issue to how short they feel movies ought to be. Even some movies 2.30 hours plus feel like they could have worked best with a bit more time.

Unless it's twilight. That shit needs as much help as it can get.
