I know adoption is a wonderful and selfless thing and is reasonable if the family pays for all the medical bills, but not everyone will be willing to sacrifice their body, carry a child for nine months and then just give it away. Plus it could interfere with their job or schooling

You know how many kids are in the foster system? There is very little chance of them getting a "good family" that you speak of. They will mostly likely be taken from house to house just as soon as they become close to the family.

It depends on what stage of pregnancy. An embryo is certainly not the same thing as a baby, and I think that the Supreme court made the right decision when limiting abortions to the first three months only. After that it is arguably too close to a person.

I disagree with this post because you mentioned you're saying if you get raped, you should still not abort. I don't support abortion, but if someone gets raped, then I support them aborting the baby.

Abortion might be wrong, and I personally wouldn't get one, but the bottom line is you can't force a person to be pregnant and have a baby. Most people that really need to get an abortion would probably find a way to get one if it was illegal, which could cause them to get really sick or even die.

I can't vote on this, because I don't have a concrete stance on it. I do view it as murder, because it is a person that you've killed, but sometimes you have to abort or else the mother will die. As for the rape thing, most women that are raped DO NOT abort the baby. They keep it. Only 1% of abortions are due to rape or incest. In the end, it's up to the mother to choose. But personally I would never get one unless I was going to die if I didn't.

Well if you loved and wanted the kid, then sure. But if you don't want the child, and it's gonna kill you, then why would you even go through with it? To be honest, the kid is probably better off dead (I know that sounds harsh) than coming into the world in the fucked up state it's in now.

Even though I am pro-life, I do say a rape victim does have a choice at whether she wants to keep the baby or not. Like many other people have already said, it's not as if you can force that woman to keep that reminder growing inside of her for 9 months. Although, when it comes to teenage girls who decide to opt out on responsibilities after having unprotected sex just because they don't want to deal with a baby, then I think it's wrong. There's no justifiable reason for any woman to get an abortion unless a) she's not able to have one due to sickness or b) she's raped.

Do to the impossibillity of voting both yes AND no, I'm not going to vote. But you made two statements, in that post: 1) That there is no moral justification for aborting a baby. To that I agree. and, 2) That murder is a greater crime than rape. To that I don't agree. I think, especially for someone pro-life, that that is the worst argument you could make. The entire subject of abortion gets muddled up when you bring rape into it. Rape is wholly another issue, and most abortions are not done by women who are victims of rape. For one, when a woman's body goes into stress mode (say, after being attacked) that makes it incredibly hard for her to get pregnant. That's why a lot of women have trouble GETTING pregnant when they try. And yes, I know some women who get raped do get pregnant, but the majority of abortions are by teenage girls that don't want the responsibility of raising up a child because they had unprotected sex.

If a girl is supposedly still too young to have and take care of a child, then she is still young to be having sex. But if a girl was raped, and doesn't want the baby, then she has the right to abort it; her life already became much worse after getting raped, don't make it get even more worse by having to keep the baby, and don't tell me that she can put it up for adoption because she's already going to be going through 9 months' of pregnancy, which may be even worse than raising the baby in some cases. Also, it's better to abort the baby than to abandon it and put it in an orphanage; sure s/he MIGHT find a family later on that will love him/her, but it's still not the same; that kid is going to live a terrible life, especially if they live their whole life knowing that their real parents are still alive but they just gave up on him. && It's not really murder if it's still just an embryo and still haven't developed, but after 3 months of pregnancy, the woman certainly shouldn't abort anymore. Rapists are kinda fucked up, so the kid will probably be too. And you shouldn't be able to tell a women, or a teenager, that they have to rip there vaginas open 10inches to shove out a kidthey don't want, just so that it can live, when most of the population doesn't deserve to in the first place. Your assummption that the kid will be messed up is way off base. Genetics only determmine how we react to an environment. But in a good environment with loving parents there is little to no chance they will be a rapist.
