i think you're both wrong. If the countries of the world did decide to make one univeral currency, those holding valuable currencies (ex. United States, England, Canada) would be entitled to more units of universal currency per unit of their current currency. Nobody would gain or lose and wealth it would just take a shitload of work and would not be worthwhile since it really doesn't matter whether there is a Universal currency. If a Canadian business wants to do business with an American business, they can easily just convert their currency, especially since about 95% of the money in North America is electronic and does not actually exist in substance
