+602 Why the f*** did Itunes need to change the price of songs from .99 to $1.29? I'm sorry, Apple, is the economy hitting you hard? I bet you guys are just so tight on money! Amirite?

Apple increased the song price by 29%, and their sales might have dropped 5%. Overall, they're making more money than they were. So why wouldn't they do it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, especially with the iPod, the Phone, and the new iPad, right?

It's only the really mainstream songs that are like that. Record labels and artists now have the voice to sell songs at 69, 99, and 129 cents. Many artists still choose to price songs at 99 cents, but they usually don't play those songs on the radio.

Maybe it's not Apple raising the prices, maybe it's the musicians...

Silly human, Apples can't sing!!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Apple doesn't raise the prices, the record labels and artists do like apples said.

Yes, but it was Apple who gave them that option. They could have easily left it at 99 cents. I mean, what are the record companies gonna do? Walk away from the biggest online music store available? They make enough damn money.

It was so we could get full rights to the song, use it however we wanted without getting in trouble. I don't the price change, either - but the song's better quality, and we get full rights to it. Sounds like a fair deal.

OH no! I have to pay a whole 30 cents extra(plus tax)! I'll have to pick up a third job, and send my kids to work at the factory to pay off my itunes bill! And if it makes you feel any better, that's a bit extra money that goes to the artists per song sold. Supports your favorite musician.
