your opinion doesn't count because you are a phony. the REAL God would never wear raybans.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Psychologically, it's the hardest position on any team, I'd say.

I agree, just look at Luongo.

American football cornerback.

I dunno, the benchwarmers job looks difficult.
All those cold seats... (cry2)
by Anonymous12 years ago
That's true. I slide my ass along those seats the whole damn game and didn't even get MVP. It requires a lot of stamina to maintain the proper temperature and it is a psychologically hurtful game because of the lack of respect given, despite it being the most difficult position on any sports team.

I read that as goaTtending

As both a soccer and lacrosse goalie, I don't think it necessarily requires more skills than other positions, just different ones, plus the fact that it's hard to find people that are willing to have hard objects thrown at high speeds in their general direction. I think it's the hardest psychologically though because many goalies feel responsible for the overall outcome of the game, especially a loss.

i have mad respect for lacrosse goalies. i will straight up admit i don't have the balls to do that job. I played goal for 2 games, & that hurts like hell
by Anonymous12 years ago
This might just be me, but I think goalie is safer than field. Yeah it hurts like hell, but at least you know what kind of pain to expect. Aside from becoming one giant bruise, I don't know any goalies who have had major injuries from playing. In the field you can be checked in the head, tripped, hit, and who knows what else!
by Anonymous12 years ago
that's a good point. i guess its not the pain itself that bothers me, its the waiting for it to happen, like knowing if they took a shot it is going to hurt. I play attack, & i have gotten injured a couple times, but i like it better cause even if i do get hurt it happens midplay so i don't have the anticipation of waiting for it to sting

Did anyone else read goattender? Nope? Just me? Oh well....
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm gonna have to be a hockey goalie this season. I'm on JV and the varsity coach won't let us borrow either of his, so I have to learn how to do it and get good at it. I'm a catcher, and my dad says that it'll help a lot, but I'm still freaking out.
by Anonymous12 years ago
some sports, sure. but soccer it would be easy. about four shots will hit the net. youre more likely to take an arrow to the knee than have 10 saves in a soccer game
by Anonymous12 years ago
Maybe professional level, since by then most people can make shots that are nearly impossible to save. But in high school and maybe even college, goalies can have a huge effect on the outcome of the game.
