I'm a "teeny bopper", thank you very much, and I listen to about everything there is. Anything from stuff like Ke$ha, to Korn, to Hank Levy, to the Beatles, Blood Sweat and Tears, MercyMe, TobyMac... Obviously, the list goes on. And I know how music WORKS, too. So does basically any other band geek out there. MUSIC IS MY LIFE. Tell me, do I fit your statement?

"Teeny bopper" what so only kids say BS what about. The self titled rappers who music is their lives and all they us is a soundboard to create their shit music. I agree with^^^ im fourteen and play the guitar and am learning bass from my uncles who have their own bands in Mexico. I also enjoy singing and I don't like how you used "teenybopper" as an insult for kids, as if they all don't know anything about music.

Teenyboppers are the preteens and teenagers who basically follow all the latest trends and do what is popular. Listening to 'popular music,' text messaging, strange clothing styles, etc. A lot of these teenyboppers spend time listening to Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Ke$ha, and other more popular artists, and then go around saying that "music is their life." Teenyboppers are annoying, need to get real saying that it is their life. I'm 17. I listen to music almost everyday. My preferred genres are rock and metal. I don't really like other genres of music, but I'll give them a listen every once in a while. I play guitar, and I am going to learn how to play the drums soon. I don't go around saying music is my life, but I do believe it is a relevant part of it. Don't worry: not all teens are teenyboppers. Some of us hate mainstream bullcrap.

By some peoples standards, music may be their life. They may only listen to music, but it could still be what their lives revolve around. Other people only believe music can be their life if they read it, play 5 different instruments and listen to it. It all really depends on what your opinion is.

This amirite post is just... Ohmygod. It truly made my day. I COMPLETELEY agree with you. All these fucking teens write shit on their facebook, myspace, whatever saying "i LOVE music. Its my life." and like seriously.. Im just like "shut the hell up." first off, music really is MY life. All the activities im involved in involve music. I play 5 instruments, piano, violin, guitar, drums, and i played the clarinet for a while. I also sing and ive been in state competitions and chorus districts. I listen to music all day long. My mother is a piano teacher. Ive performed in many orchestras, concerts, and i plan to major in music/arts/dance one day. I take TONS of music classes. And all thes losers go around saying "music is everything to me" and all they listen to is like miley cyrus, justin beiber, kesha, and rappers. Like seriously... I feel like slapping them.

This post reflects a kind of fascist-like behavior that exists in the world of the arts. You don't like what's produced these days and so you call what you listen to "real music." You know that a lot of musicians were hated when they first started, or touted as ridiculous, fake, nonsensical. The nature of the music industry may have changed, but you can't judge the way people feel about or interpret the music they listen to by saying it's simply garbage or not real. How music makes people feel is entirely personal, and I'm afraid you don't know shit about humanity if you think you can just say that all that is nonsense and garbage and only you know what you're talking about when it comes to music.
