All schools are different genius...and she turned 15 freshman year. Plenty of people were 15 at some point of freshman year

In some places, your freshman year is the tenth grade. So, you could start 15, almost 16.

As most others stated, it does just depend on your birthday and your school's birthday deadline for starting kindergarten. I have a friend who was 13 during the beginning of freshman year, and she turned 14 later in the year. It just depends on the school system and your birth date.
