I think a teacher or professor has the potential to be more rewarding. If you're a good enough teacher you can inspire at least 30% of your class which could help shape the way they see the world. But really it's like ctiscooler said.. it depends on the person.

Anthony's job on amirite is probably pretty rewarding considering we view him as a demigod.

any job can be rewarding, depending on your disposition.
A nurse from one point of view is underpaid, over-worked, doing grunt work for people who don't remember your name and not really saving any work that anyone else couldn't do dispite having a lot of training.
From another a nurse is really helping people, working with some of the brightest people in the world, capable of advancemen, and doing work that will lead to someone immediatly being saved pain or even their life.
you could make the same arguements, for or against, for any job, from burger flipper to rocket scientist.

Burger flipper might be hard to justify..

-easy as hell
-repetitive (some people like that)
-almost no training needed
-no responsibility
-flexible
-chance of promotion and free training
-free burgers!

Small rewards. I guess if you really want that, though.

The first meaning is how my mom feels. She absolutely despises being a nurse.

What better reward is there then wiping a strangers ass and changing their bed sheets?

I feel rewarded by my lack of ever having to work one day of my life.
