Dogs are the best! They are very cuddly [no matter what breed as long as they're trained right] and relatively low-maintenance after they're housebroken. I have 3.

Border collie-lab mix, German shepherd-chow mix, and a silky terrier. The shepherd-mix is possibly the sweetest dog I've ever had, even though she looks like a bear.
