I'm only being a prick and correcting you because you mentioned correcting in your post. You don't have correct pronoun-antecedent agreement. When you speak of "the teacher", you are speaking of one person. Because one person can never be represented as "they", you cannot use "they're" here. Instead, you can use "he's" or "she's".

(Rainbow35):" Despite such use of they by admired writers for many centuries, many Americans avoid use of they to refer to a singular antecedent out of respect for a purported grammatical rule.[30] A majority of The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language usage panel generally claimed to "reject the use of they with singular antecedents," though this depended on the context and the semantics of the individual sentence; thus 82% of the panelists found the sentence "The typical student in the program takes about six years to complete their course work" to be unacceptable." There is a lot in that article about the preferences of people and how certain linguists find it acceptable to use the generic "they". It's true that it's becoming more and more acceptable, but I was taught differently. One of the main reasons I am slightly opposed to this usage is because people really can be very lazy with their speech and writing, and when major publishers begin condoning...

...new rules such as these, it sends a message to people that their sloppiness is perfectly acceptable. Sure, using the generic "they" to refer to a singular pronoun isn't the worst thing one can do. However, I feel like this is a step backwards in human intelligence; with the development of the Internet, people are losing the skills they need to spell and construct simple sentences, and it's not okay to let it continue to happen. I admit that my comment wasn't completely in good taste because people have different perspectives, and I'm sorry. I just view this as a small representation of what will become of our language and the people who speak it. Thanks for showing me that article; I had never seen it before. I actually sat and read it for a good deal of time, and it taught me something new!
