well an 18 year old is considered an adult and 16 a minor but it happens all the time....only the ones that have asshole parents get reported

Above comment pulled from wikipedia. Ages are different in other places (like other countries), though in most places a 16 y/o with an 18 y/o it would be completely fine. I know it's 16 in England and Whales.

3 year rule in NY. Perfectly ok for an 18 and a 16 year old. There just cant be a gap of more than 3 years

yeah i'm 16 and my boyfriend is 18, and when we started dating people gave us some crap for awhile and some still do but it's not that big of a deal. now if it was 35 and 20....that is pratically craddle robbing there

Well after a certain age the sections of maturity levels get larger exponentialy. 16 and 18 are very far apart on maturity levels.

The maturity is difference is bigger between a 16 year old and an 18 year old IF the girl is 18. I'm not saying that to be sexist. It's a scientific fact that girls mature faster than boys (that's what I've always been taught anyway). If the boy is 18 and the girl is 16 they should be on about the same maturity level.
