+211 If you didn't already know beforehand, you wouldn't be able to tell the gender of a lot of Sesame Street characters, amirite?

I never watched much of Sesame Street, I'm agreeing based on the bits I have seen. I think if you can't really tell what gender they are, that's a wonderful thing. It means they aren't holding (strictly) to traditional gender stereotypes, and therefore teaching kids that it's ok to like whatever they like. Many shows show girls in pink dresses playing with dolls and boys in overalls playing with trucks. I think that teaches kids that there are certain things they should like, instead of just liking what they like. Go Sesame Street!
