I have more fun when people are playing laid back and where the sake of playing is the fun part, not the outcome. Not everyone who is playing is a great athlete, so they just want to learn the ropes in a non threatening environment where mistakes are ok. That being said, it's not bad to be competitive or want to win, but realize how taking that attitude too far can make other people too intimidated to even have a chance to have fun

Well freshman year for school volleyball, our team went undefeated the whole season; we never even went to three games because we won in two every time. It wasn't fun because we never really had to fight to win.

I always have fun swimming and playing volleyball, even when I lose. If you don't enjoy playing, then why play?
