+230 If you live in Texas, you consider a mum something you wear during your school's Homecoming, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

:O mums are only used here in Texas?! holey shit haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I didn't know that either. LMAO. How weird....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We're the only ones that use mums!? Woah hahaha :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What the hell is a mum?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hmm. I live in texas, but I've never heard that. Maybe its cuz I havent live there long enough? I don't know, but I've definitely never heard that before, lol XD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really? You just bad to add "lol XD" to the end of that post? Here are the reasons why that is stupid: 1. There was absolutely nothing funny about what you said and if someone said that out loud and laughed at the end, people would look at them like they're crazy 2) "Lol" and "XD" both mean the same thing so you're being redundant 3) You put a comma before them and didn't even end the sentence. WTF?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hey, there's no need to be mean! Plus, how can you care that much about my "stupid" comment, huh? Jeez, if you wanna pick a fight, go somewhere else, okay? Because I don't want to fight. Not at all. Why don't you keep your opinions to yourself? So what if I added "lol XD"? Who are you to judge it? Or me for that matter? And by the way, I always use correct grammar. This time, I didn't because my laptop battery was running low. I now have it charging. Is that good enough? I'm sorry if I made you upset... really, I mean it. I am just a bit annoyed you replied to me like that. P.S. "XD" is a smiley face/emoticon. How is that the same thing as "lol"?!? Can we *please* not fight?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha your comment made me lol XD

whats a mum?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I thought those where used all over not only at texaas:DD woooow...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In England, I'm sure wearing your mum to homecoming would be considered taboo.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A mum in Texas is something people buy in high school to wear at homecoming during football games. It's made of ribbons and very flashy, with a center peice you can order custom make (IE a little bear with a Dance uniform if you're on the dance team, a bear with a flute if you play flute, etc) Some people use it to raise money for their School organization (like my high schools band uses it to raise money), and charge less than if it wasn't the schools (like 75 dollars as opposed to 150.)

dang. after all these people ask it, and all these people saying 'oh, they're only in texas? wow! I didn't know that!' finally someone answers the friggin question.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Aren't mums flowers?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes they are, Chrysanthemums to be exact.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wowww. i didn't know they were only in texas. no, mums are just ribbons and flashy stuff to show school spirit. girls wear it on the chest, and it's much much larger than the guy's. the guys wear it on their wrist.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

WAIT. Mums are only used in Texas? I didn't know they were only used here.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A mum is like a huge flashy corsage thats pinned to you shoulder(:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

With the obvious exception that a corsage is made with flowers.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Is Texas really the only place that has mums? I didn't know that..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A mum is a handmade or store bought giant, ribbon decoration with a bear at the top middle. girls have larger versions around their neck while boys wear same size bear but shorter ribbons. the boys make the mums for their dates while the girls, vice versa. they wear them to school on the friday before homecoming. candy is aso put in the mum to be eaton through out the day

by Anonymous 13 years ago

btw boys wear them on their upper arms. THEY DONT WEAR THEM TO THE DANCE!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I seriously pictured a corsage made from chrysanthemums when I read that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wow.... they do weird stuff in Texas... guess you learn something new everyday.
