ok i live in california and its the same as living anywhere else in the country. my life is not filled with beaches, surfing and movie stars on the other hand i live close to the beach, a great city like san francisco, and the mountains so i can go skiing; the weather is nice and we have some amazing local produce. btw the ocean is frezzing so all in all it has its pros and cons just like any other place

i like california because there are those different things! you know, it has deserts and mountains and big cities and suburbs and oceans and lakes. it's also pretty in the middle when it comes to temperature. but, yeah, it's not perfect. people come to california expecting it to be perfect and that's why they don't appreciate it as much.
