+980 Gay marriage, God, Abortion, Global warming. Now have fun debating! amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And politics, don't forget politics.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

don't forget vegetarians too!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am a vegetarian! I wasn't aware this was cause for debate though... Hmm... Someone should debate it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Anyone who participates or believes in any of the above acts/concepts will die... someday

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What if they're immortal?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

except God.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Anyone who does anything will die someday. We kinda can't help it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'll bite. Yes, no, sometimes, I don't care; I'll be dead before it matters. In order.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People should stop criticizing Obama about "not fixing the economy" because apparantly he was ranked at #3 out of all of the presidents in the economic field.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We aren't criticizing Obama about "not fixing" the economy. We are criticizing Obama about screwing up or country and making the economy even worse. In response to Obama being ranked #3 out of all presidents in the economic field, really?? Where are your sources?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Our country was always screwed and everyone's at fault, not just the president.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Obama is possible the worst president so far.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

possibly

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You forgot about president Grant.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and Bush...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What do you know, aren't you the elementary school kid?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you can't rank a president who is not even close to being done with his term in office. How will we know what kind of job he will do in the future? Maybe it will turn out that he made this recession even longer than it had to be.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, yes, no, no.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Worst answer. No gay marriage? You are a jerk. People can love whoever they want and if you think otherwise, you suck. God?... eh.. huh...okay, whatever. No choice? Other people can't make a decision for themselves? And.. as for global warming, who knows?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Excuse me for having morals.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What's your reasoning for no gay marriage?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm a Christian, the Bible says it's wrong. That doesn't mean I hate gays, I just believe it's wrong. I'm not trying to start anything though I promise:)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Religion and the government are supposed to be separate, although that often is not the case. Either way, that is not an adequate reason for a law against gay marriage, because of that supposed separation.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

sure, you can argue it, I just stated my personal beliefs.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wasn't arguing it. I was just stating why it was an inadequate reason to justify not allowing gays marital status.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its not just religious believes, its this whole Global warming thing. They have so many people fooled about this, that there's a law in san fran sisco that states you HAVE to recycle. I'm more mad about that then gay not being allowed to get married everywhere. ._.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How do you feel about atheists getting married? People marrying in a court, rather than in a church? Marriage is a contract. You can add whatever religious frills you want, but why say two people can't marry just because your religion opposes it? Marriage may be about God to you, but to others it's about tax breaks, child custody, and hospital visitation rights.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Can I quote you on that?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sure, you can.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

where in the bible does it say that gay marriage is wrong

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That, "Decision for themselves" would be to use protection.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh yeah, and what if something accidentally happened? What if the birth control pill didn't work? What if the condom slipped, or broke? Then what? They just have to devote their whole lives to a baby that they didn't even plan on in the first place? How does that seem fair to you?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Adoption, there are other choices besides death.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The best birth control is a the birth control pill that only works about 99.8% of the time. There is still the chance of pregnancy. Also, what about rape? It happens, and you don't have your choice then.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh okay, so kill the baby. saying people have the right to chose whether they want to have an abortion is the exact same thing as me saying we all have the right to choose to kill you right now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually you do have a right to kill people... However, if you decide to do that, there are moral, legal, and to an extent reputational consequences to go with it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Do you really believe that all adoption centers are really that good? And what if the mother doesn't want to go through the pain of labor? Or what if she doensn't want to pay for the medical expenses?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Plus, abortion is the ultimate dead baby joke...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I love you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

just watch the silent scream on youtube, you will undoubtedly change your mind about abortion

by Anonymous 13 years ago

C-Section.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you act like a little bitch. go die in a hospital (;

by Anonymous 13 years ago

if you're going to insult someone, next time refrain from the wink face.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't care, absolutely not, it's her choice, it's happening, and I'll be dead before it matters too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Global warming doesn't exist. Idiot. >_<

by Anonymous 13 years ago

False. Global warming has always existed. Even before we boomed into the industrial age. Idiot. >_<

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We're just speeding up the process, but it would eventually happen anyways.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know the world climate changes, if not there wouldn't have been an ice-age. What I'm saying is we have absolutely no impact on when it does change. Global warming is a myth, its been proven.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How do we not have an impact? You agree that carbon dioxide heats up the atmosphere, correct? And you do agree that a lot of our electricity comes from the burning of fossil fuels, correct? And you also agree that the burning of fossil fuels pumps CO2 into the atmosphere, correct? Then what is there not to believe?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That that shit is lies.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Which part?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That we are causing it by driving cars. Regardless of what people think, we are natural. Bee's live in hives which they make themselves, we are just smarter and took it to the next level.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There isn't global warming and there isn't global cooling. There is simply weather cycles that have been going on since the beginning of time. Human have no effect on the weather cycles since there was believed to be a heating trend in the time of dinosaurs. You can't tell me that SUV's caused that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You aren't even arguing anything, just agreeing with what I said. Well, sort of. There is global warming and there is global cooling, both of which are NATURALLY CAUSED. They can, however, also be HUMAN CAUSED. The earth goes through its cycles and we are merely speeding the cycle up.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Can you explain to me how we had record breaking colds this year?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Global warming causes drastic fluxuations in weather patterns. It doesn't just heat up the earth.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

About 40 years ago there was a "global cooling" trend and now it is a "global warming" trend. Yes, thyere are changes in the wweather but the matter just gets so blown up by the media and hollywood.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There is no global warming. However, I do think that there is climate change. The Earth goes through natural cycles of hot and cold. Thats why there are ice ages.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Uurggh... The people who don't believe in global warming are so IGNORANT!! It makes me want to scream! You should still go green! It's better for our earth anyways! It's a win-win situation, even if global warming isn't real.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, don't care, her choice, yup.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't care, yes, to a certain extent maybe, I really don't know

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, Yes, I don't really care, Yes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Should stay illegal. Look around, there's no way this just happened by itself. I still don't get why killing babies is legal. I don't know......

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well if you agree with the first and third one and maybe even the forth one you can't believe in the second one because he says otherwise

by Anonymous 13 years ago

YES! YES! NO:( NO:( ,

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Honestly, you are the only person on this site that I dislike.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i'm honored(: but seriously, what do you want me to do about that?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nothing, just thought I'd share that. You can do whatever you like.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well since you're anonymous, you know your opinion really doesn't matter to me, soooo yeah, enjoy your 4th of July(:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Even if it wasn't anonymous, it shouldn't matter to you because it's highly improbable that you know me anyways. Yeah, you too. Too bad I don't get to see any fireworks though. I'm on vacation.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

right, so thanks for voicing your opinion about me,i don't know why you dont like me but hey who cares? Enjoy your vacation or whatever(:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thanks bud.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

At first I was like "Anonymous guy is a jerk". then I saw the way you talked like one of those idiotic girls who are all like... like that. You're so stupid.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh yeah! i forgot that you knew me! how could i forget? stupid skylar!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes. I don't know. Sure. Eh.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Whatever, No, Choice, it's a natural cycle.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

YES!, not really, if she wants to, YES.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, no, yes, yes

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay marriage should be legal everywhere, including all states and other countries. God may or may not exist, it can't be proven or disproven. Abortion should be the woman's choice up to a certain trimester, no one else has the right to intervene. Global warming probably won't affect me in my lifetime, so whatever. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My thoughts exactly.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Tenth Amendment. That's why each state can pass or not pass a gay marriage law.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay marriage - Hell yes. God - Fictional. Abortion - I'm pro-choice. Global warming - Mixed feelings. I know we're having a negative impact on the enviornment, but I'm not entirely sure I believe in global warming.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay marriage- I support it but I'm not gay. God- real (Mormons are awesome). Abortion- horrible. It's basically murder. Global Warming- Probobaly not real, but we still need to cut down on our waste. There's my opinion :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Anonymous):You are a good person, one of the few in this world.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You base your character analysis on political beliefs?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I base my character analysis on morals. And who are you to care what I think of a person?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really? And what exactly are your morals?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm simply stating my opinion of that person. It does not involve you. If you do not agree with me, then you don't have to. I really don't want to state all of my morals over some internet website because, honestly, I don't know you. So stop looking for an argument where there wasn't one in the first place.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't forget pancakes and waffles!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Waffles!!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Global warming doesn't mean that we are causing it, it just means that the earth is heating up, whether by natural or human causes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

YES, love who you want to love. Maybe, but no one can know for sure. Yes, you have the right to make your own decisions, Possibly, but there's nothing we can do about it, because it isn't human-caused.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

global warming is a natural cycle, but we're speeding up the process.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly ^^

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, maybe but I don't believe, pro-choice, it's natural

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dont believe ing gay marriage - dont get one. Dont like abortions? - Dont go to the clinic. No God? - dont show up at church on sunday calling the Christians idiots. Global warming? well, idont know about that, but i do believe that we need to do more to protect mother earth....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Abortion? That's killing a person. That baby in that person's stomache that is being killed and sucked out is alive. EVERYONE deserves a chance at life, a person is a person, no matter how small.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The fetus can't even think until a certain stage in the pregnancy. That's why it is legal to abort up until a certain trimester.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The mother should not be forced to take care of the baby. What if she can barely afford to take care of herself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's called adoption. Then why did she have sex in the first place. Everyone knows that if you have unprotected sex, you are gonna get pregnant and have a baby. Even if it was protected, pretty much everyone knows that there is still a chance of getting pregnant. And if the mother can barely afford to feed herself, then what is she doing risking the chance of having a baby?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay, rape. Not her choice to have sex. Therefore why would someone put themselves through 9 months of a potentally life threatening pregnancy. It also depends on a lot of another things. Adoption is well, not always the best choice. Have you seen some of the adoption systems? They can be horrible.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes there is a chance, but that chance is extremely small. And like anonymous above said, what if she got raped?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, rape is one of the things I am still undecided on because if I was raped, I don't think I would want to still have that reminder but I also wouldn't want to kill a person.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Who cares if it can't think? Its cells are dividing, so its alive. If its alive, its a human being and killing a human being is murder.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Google defines "life" as "the experience of being alive" If you cannot think therefore you cannot experience life

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So you would kill someone because google doesn't think it is "experiencing life"?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So you would say that someone in a coma is not alive?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If it can't think, and it doesn't even know it's alive, then I really wouldn't consider it alive.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Google also defines "life" as "the period between birth and the present time"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

GOOGLE does. GOOGLE?? Google isn't god, I'm sure there are other dictionaries that have different definitions.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't talk down to your future rulers like that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, BIRTH.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We need some usernames people. Too many Anonymous, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha yah, but you are anonymous too, lol. I was planning on making an account but I am new to this site so still haven't figured it out, haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I choose to be anonymous ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Premature babies should still be in the womb but are bporn anyway and when they are born, most are able to live even though they are supposed to still be in the womb.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Abortion is a choice. If you don't like it, don't get one. Since christianity also forbids any kind of contraception, think about that next time you have 'protected' sex. If you don't follow the little rules, you can't be high and mighty about the big ones.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's illegal at that point...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

mosquitoes have cells that divide...there alive, yet people kill them. just because something has cells that divide does not make it a human being.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry didnt mean to post that last comment as anonymous.^^^ Im not a coward

by Anonymous 13 years ago

aagh it did it again^^!!! if it wont let my put my name then i guell ill just tell you; it's kevinthegiraffe...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dude, it's ok... It will all be ok.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

xD Why did I say tax breaks? My head clearly isn't screwed on properly today...I meant filing as a couple for tax returns and the benefits given to married couples, etc.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes,maybe,depends,yes

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Read "The God Delusion", amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That is my favorite book. It really strengthened my lack of belief in god.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Same, reading it right now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My favorite part is the arguments for God's existence. They sound absolutely ridiculous. He does a great job at combating them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I also kind of enjoy the anthropic principle.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, no (but believe if you want to), I wouldn't but it should be legal, don't care as much as I should.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

HERE'S WHAT I GOTTA SAY. GAY MARRIAGE: ABSOLUTELY IMMORAL. G-D: ABSOLUTELY REAL. ABORTION: ABSOLUTELY CRUEL. and I have nothing to say about global warming... lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lololololoolol. You are one fucked up child.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

care to explain your comment? i dont understand what you mean!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You obviously don't know how to argue becuase instead of going to facts to back up your opinion you resort to making personal attacks. Way to go.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You obviously didn't understand that I wasn't arguing, I was merely stating an opinion. If you want to argue, then have at it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thanks for backing me up! :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Your welcome :) I was just glad by what you had to say.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

awww there should be more sweet ppl like you on this site!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha, if only...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*sigh* some ppl can be so rude

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What is happening to this world?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

[Insert yet another flirtatious, but pointless comment]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahaha nice one! that actually made me laugh

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the world is sinking lower and lower in immorality... it sickens me. thats why its so relieving to see kind-hearted people like you. there are so few of you left!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay marriage - Marriage is a legal bond in which two people who wish to spend the rest of their lives together wish to earn the legal benefits in which marriage gives, in regards to healthcare choices, legal decisions and entitlement to property should one of the couple dies. No matter what marriage is to you, there is NO reason that same sex couples should not be allowed to have this benefit. I'm not even going to start about god because all your proof comes from a book which isn't much more than propaganda. Abortion - What if the woman was raped and the rapist empregnated her? What if a child was abused sexually and became pregnant? What if the mothers life is at risk if they allowed the pregnancy to continue? What if the mother couldn't support the child and herself if she gave birth to it? Before even thinking 'adoption', just think of how many orphanages there are, thousands of children who don't have homes or families. Do you want to add to that misery?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ummm... not so sure why you're thrashing on MY opinions... but lets see what we got here. first of all, i stand by what i said about gay marriages. its just wrong. IT'S DISGUSTING ACTUALLY! im sorry. it just is! G-d created MAN and WOMAN for the purpose of them to be together. if He agreed and thought that gay marriages was a good idea, heck, he wouldn't have made Eve! marriage to me is a very important part of life, and it is not meant to happen between the same gender. if there is attraction between the same sex, then i say to them: SEE A THERAPIST! second, how dare you call the bible a book of propaganda? just, don't talk. k? and third: i understand what you have to say about abortions. but i wasnt talking about those types, where women become pregnant when they dont want to. i was really referring to the women who prance around and get pregnant accidentally and decide they arent ready to have a family. they are dealing with life here.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What gives the bible the right to deny those in love marriage? The government and religion should be kept apart. Why should you deny atheists the right to TALK? ("just, don't talk. k?") Please. Abortion is to protect those not ready for pregnancy from having to go through with it. Please think.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Please stop being so dramatic. Please stop picking on my posts. Please stop supporting gay marriages. Please don't give in to the atheists... they believe in NO G-d. Please respect my opinions and move on with your life. So please, STOP BEING AN IDIOT!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why are you calling them an idiot? You're being pretty stupid. "Don't talk, k?" why? Because they have a different oppinion and like a debate? "Please stop supporting gay marriages."SEE A THERAPIST." Who are you to decide what people you don't know can and cannot do? I believe in God, or G-d as you put it, too, but at least I can have an open mind. Sorry for being rude, but I'm sick of some people's lack of tollerance.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You are getting me all wrong. I respect everyone's opinion and value the importance of freedom of speech. I am very open-minded and tolerant. I was merely defending myself from the ignorant statement of the poster above me (ShadePawOT) who wrote: "all your proof [about God] comes from a book which isn't much more than propaganda." I find it highly offensive and completely untrue. You can exercise your rights and freedom of speech but when you blatantly mock the one Book of Truth that came from God, then you are crossing the line. Therefore, please get the facts straight before critizing others. After all, jumping to conclusions is no way to debate. Thanks.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Did you even see the places I quoted? Excuse me for getting you wrong, but you don't sound open minded or respectful.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Firstly, I did see the places you quoted and wrote back to the one I felt most passionate about. Secondly, if you are referring to the above quote "Please stop supporting gay marriages."SEE A THERAPIST."" as proof that I am not open-minded or respectful then I beg to differ. One can be respectful and open-minded and also share their opinion at the same time. I am merely expressing my personal opinion, not forcing you to believe one way. I respect your opinion. And tell you mine. Sounds pretty fair to me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Insulting is not the way to debate, and it is DEFINATELY not the way to change someone's mind! The purpose of your comment should have been to state your opinions and why you think you're right...NOT to insult and belittle the people who don't agree! I don't agree with gay marriage or abortion either...but I DO try not to be rude when I debate. Please, PLEASE change your style of arguing. You're giving others with the same beliefs bad reputations, and our rep are already bad enough!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and our repS*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why are you targeting the wrong person? Especially if you claim to be on my side... My comment was designed to defend myself against the previous poster and was taken out of context. Please try to get the facts straight before you jump to conclusions. After all, you are ruining the reps (or should I say rep ;)) of people who believe the same way. Thanks.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't get it. Who are you actually talking to in your original comment? See, there's this thing called a reply button, and you press it so people don't get confused and start an internet war.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly. And I was talking to the poster who wrote in about the Bible being a book of propaganda... which is why I wrote "second, how dare you call the bible a book of propaganda? just, don't talk. k?" I clearly addressed who I was talking to. You, on the other hand, can't seem to follow a simple argument and therefore initiated this internet. Great going, Einstein.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Look...oh forget it, I'm tired of this argument.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Too tired or you've come to the realization that you have lost? Better luck next time, bud.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

First of all, don't call me bud. Second, I've gotten bored. You bore me. Don't take it personally, most things get old eventually, like arguing over a misinterpretation on the internet. My main point was that you were being an insensitive jerk, and you never really addressed that, in my oppinion. Third, yeah, actually, I am tired.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The reason why I never addressed that point of yours was because you had absolutely no proof for your argument. An argument without proof is a pretty lousy argument, in my "oppinion". But we both agree on one thing. We're both bored. So good night.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Good night.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dear, Dear what are we illiterate now?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My dear, what do you mean in G-d's name?!?!?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not ONLY targetting you. I've been carrying on legit debates all over this particular post. I AM on your side, but I do NOT agree with the way you've chosen to debate. You're extremely rude to these people and if you EVER want them to believe you or even give your argument the time of day, you have to stop insulting them! It's not Christ-like. It's not nice. It's rude and it's wrong! I am only pointing out the error of your ways. I don't blame Aerith for giving up on this argument!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am well aware of the ways to convince one to join your side. I do agree that a rude attitude will never convince others. However, I believe that you are the rude one here. Calling my posts rude is rude. Enough said. I am not insulting anyone. YOU are insulting me. And you CLAIM to be on my side? Not very Crystal Light.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay, I agree. What I said was rude. You say you believe in God? Are you aware of the verse that calls us to correct other Christians in their wrong ways? Not sure of the reference. Another verse is Proverbs 12:1, "To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction." (NIV) I was correcting you as you ARE being very insulting to others, and you won't even consider it. Go look at your comments. "just, don't talk. k?" that's not insulting? "Great going, Einstein." Umm, hmm. Yup that definately sounds insulting.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

For the last time, if you were actually paying attention to anything I've been saying in the past little while, you would realize that the comment "Just, don't talk. k?" was not meant in a condescending way. It was merely said out of self-defense for the previous poster's comment in which he mocked our holy bible and blatantly stated that it was a book of "propaganda". I was defending my comment and my beliefs and that is why I said it. With regards to my other comment ("Great going, Einstein") I was telling the poster that he was very smart. You, on the other hand, misinterpreted it. But, i don't hate you for that since it says in Proverbs: "it is stupid to hate people who try to correct you" (NIV)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Honestly, how can telling someone not to talk not be meant in a condescending way? That was not called for and very unneccessary. I agree that the poster was wrong when he said that the Bible is a book of propoganda, but that's his belief, and out of respect for him as a person, there was a KIND way to defend yourself and the Bible.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I apologize that I was taken aback by the disrespectful comment of the poster that I reacted instictively. However, I do not apologize for standing up for my beliefs. I will never apologize for defending my values and ethics. For as we all know "Lemon tree, very pretty, And the Lemon flower is sweet. But the fruit, of the poor lemon, is IMPOSSIBLE to eat." Thanks.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never wanted you to apologize for standing up for your beliefs. As a matter of fact, I respect and admire you for that! There is nothing that makes me happier than someone who is not afraid to say what they believe, whether I agree with them or not. I only was angry at HOW you were standing up for those beliefs, and that's the only reason I replied to your comment in the first place.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well put. However, from the way you approached the response to my initial post, it sounded as though you were blaming me for standing up for myself. You should've made it clear that I had full rights to defend myself against the idiot who was mocking my values. And that the only thing you didn't approve of was the way I said it. Instead, you got me thinking that you were targeting me as a person and didn't approve of my manner of self-defense. I forgive you though because as I said before, "the fruit of the poor lemon is imposible to eat." :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm sorry for the confusion, I thought I made myself clear. However, I'm not perfect, so I do apologize. Next time, I'll try to be more precise. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A stitch in time saves nine! I am happy to have opened your eyes to the flaws in your posts. We have finally agreed on something: You are not perfect! Thank you for the apology.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I only wish I had been able to open your eyes to the flaws in your own posts. Obviously, I failed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not very Crystal Light of you....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not even gonna ask what the heck that means.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oops did I say Crystal Light? I meant Christ-Like! How silly of me ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not a believer of the whole 'god created man and woman' thing, I prefer to see that part of the bible not as literal truth but open to the interpretation of the reader. I interpret that whole story different from you. I agree, marriage is an important part of life, but not just for man and woman, but rather for two people who love each other, regardless of gender. Secondly, how much do you know of the bible's creation? Because I think I know a little more than you about that matter, which has given me the opinion I stated before. Thirdly, you have to understand that pregnancy isn't as simple as you put it. I'm assuming you're male, so as part of a patriarchal religion, it's only natural that you don't understand what a woman goes through either. Having a child is a very emotionally volatile time of a womans life. It often leads to depression and to those not ready, other more serious mental illnesses, which could effect both mother and child. Being not ready

by Anonymous 13 years ago

for a family is a lot more serious than the church would lead you to believe. And for your information, I am a bisexual 17 year old male. I believe in god, and do read the bible. I choose not to take it literally because it disagrees with my personal beliefs in regards to how things came to be, and also believe it is out-dated for modern society. I could go on, but I think I've said enough.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

sorry to interrupt, but i just want to point our that that is the stupidest thing i've ever read. "I choose not to take it literally because it disagrees with my personal beliefs in regards to how things came to be." that's not how the bible works. if you don't believe in christian beliefs AS THEY ARE, then don't be christian. if you need to "differently interpret" (aka change) the bible in order to believe it, then its not the bible you believe in. it's yourself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There are 4 kinds of christian. There are those that believe that the bible is literal truth. That means they believe that God made the earth in 7 HUMAN days. Then there are those that believe it is the truth in the terms of god. That means they believe God made the earth in 7 GOD days, if which humans have no way of telling how long they are. Then there are christians that believe that the bible is not the literal truth, but symbolic of lessons we should learn (I.E my views). They believe that God created the earth, just not in the way the bible says. Then there are the christians who believe that the bible is wrong, and choose to learn from the lessons it teaches rather than what actually happens in it. This is not changing the bible. This is taking a step back and thinking about what the bible means to you as a person, rather than blindly following everyword as gospel truth (no pun intended). This doesn't make me a bad christian, as I still follow the lessons.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God (for goodness' sake, you can't even type His name?) created man and woman to procreate. Even if gays marry, there will still be straight couples procreating; plus, there will be couples that cannot produce their own children willing to take in the children from the orphanages that are already bursting, that will be even more overpopulated, because you don't believe abortion should be legal. So why shouldn't gay marriage be legal? Because it's "just wrong"? Because "marriage is very important to [you]"? Okay. TO YOU. That is your opinion of marriage, that it should be between a man and a woman. But will it harm you if same-sex marriage is allowed? Disgust you? Okay. Deal with it. Maybe your opinion disgusts me. I'm not trying to make it illegal.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Seriously??? you can believe whatever you want, but you cannot force other people to share your beliefs. nor can you silence them for expressing them, same as we cannot silence you for the shit your saying. wish we could but we cant. everyone in this world is equal and deserves to have equal right, which INCLUDE ABORTION AND SAME SEX MARRIAGES! because the laws are not based around the bible anymore. so grow up. follow whatever your beliefs tell you to but DO NOT EXPECT other people to do the same.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't call what I'm saying shi*! That's just plain rude! Sadly, I know the laws aren't based on the bible anymore. But you know what? I am allowed to say anything the heck I want to say, so stop bashing me and my opinions. And I am NOT expecting others to do the same, but I'm allowed to debate and express myself. How bout YOU grow up instead. BTW, I admire your courage.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"God created man and woman" Then you have yet to meet a Hermaphrodite. Looks like "God" screwed up.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ummm no

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Do you even know what a Hermaphrodite is? Where is the so called "God created Man and woman and just man and woman"? Clearly if he can create Hermaphrodites, then he can create gays. "But you know what? I am allowed to say anything the heck I want to say, so stop bashing me and my opinions. " Oh wow. Another hypocrite. Yes, you DO have the right to say ANYTHING you want.. But guess what? So does everyone else. You're not special. Freedom of speech applies to EVERYONE. So yes, keep saying what you want. It's your right. And yes, let people keep bashing your opinion. It's THEIR right.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

^^ True dat. It's annoying when people are such hypocrites abtou "Freedom of Speech"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@665662 (MiMumuwin): both of you, just leave it alone. stop over-analyzing all of my comments! think what you want to think and live life to its fullest :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not over analyzing. I'm stating reason to your obvious hypocritical views of "I have freedom if speech and no one can say anything about it". You never did reply back to my hermaphrodite points Plus, gay people can"t really live life to their fullest with people disagree ing with who they are, can they? ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oooooh are you implying that you're gay? (i totally mean that as a serious question)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nope, not gay. I assumed you mean "live life to it's fullest" was a general saying for everyone. Since everyone is the same... Unless you want to tailor that quote specifically for gays?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i do, actually. to all those gays out there: TRY to live life to its fullest..... i guess?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually many gays have. Take Ellen Degeneres for example, successful career, happy life, beautiful wife... I'd say she has already lived life to the fullest. :) Btw, the fact that you have repeatedly, through our whole conversation, ignored my hermaphrodite points, shows that even you know how illogical your "Homosxuality is Immoral because God created man and woman only" is. So I'm going to finally walk away with a sense of assurance that I chose the right and logial stance of supporting gay rights. Peace.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ur right. ellen has lived such a full life. Puh-Leez

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, No, It depends on the circumstances, Yes it is a huge problem

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I like the RomanianAssassin.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes, not at all, depending, no

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, I don't care, it's her choice, I don't know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay marriage: yes. God: not as we make it out to be if it is real. Abortion: undecided. Global warming: yes, it's real and if you want to live in denial, or fuck over your kids because it's "not in your lifetime" and therefor it "doesn't matter," then fuck you too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I just like to say the bible says no gay marriage but it also say to kill your children if god tells u to WOULD YOU kill your Children if god told you to!? NO! So stop picking from the bible in order to support your opinions. If you say "no gay marriage" then you are willing to kill your children just saying.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Technically the bible says no homosexuality, not no gay marriage. And i'm not sure about the killing your children, but I'm sure if God actually told someone that He'd have a reason. Plus, I think that was Old Testament when He was getting people's attention. So i don't think Gay Marriage should be illegal, but I still don't personally approve. But that's just me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would kill my child if God told me to. But God would not ask us to in these days and times, because He does not require sacrifices anymore. That was in the Old Testament times. Jesus' blood when He died on the cross took care of the sacrifice for ALL of us! And God ONLY asked Abraham to kill Isaac as a test to see if his heart was loyal to his God. And it was! Abraham did not have to kill his child.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@264814 (amusicalheart): U people are nuts Some THING that is not even proven to be real TELLS YOU to kill your own children you would do it? What if he told you to build a bomb and blow up New York?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Now give me one good reason why God would do that? A "test" simply wouldn't work. I mean can you honestly picture God saying "Hey, you, build a bomb. Blow up New York City. I'm going to use a Christian, one of MY people, to commit an act of terrorism just because I feel like it!"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He doesn't have to tell you his reasons, what if this time it wasn't a test. In fact for all you know you are hearing imaginary voices in your head AND YOU ARE INSANE!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Btw when you say "im going to use a Christian, one of my people..." are u implying that Christians are superior just because of their opinions?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh! Is that how that sounded? Sorry! Na, I meant "one of my people" as in, we as Christians consider ourselves God's children or his "people". So sorry for the confusion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God never leads people to sin. Period.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Seriously. If you are willing to kill your child for something that you cannot even back up with evidence, then please, just give me your address and I will notify the insane asylum.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, go ahead. You can think I'm insane, call me names, say I'm crazy, but it neither scares nor offends me. It only makes me realize what I'm doing is right. It says in the Bible that I will be persecuted for my beliefs, and this is one example of being "persecuted."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So because you are punished for something you're doing, that makes it right? Since when was that logic?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't consider it punishment. I'm gonna say it again. The Bible said I will be persecuted for my beliefs, I'm being persecuted, so I must be doing something right.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry, wrong word choice. But I mean, if you believed in unicorns, and people said you were wrong and called you strange, would that still mean you were doing something right? If you were schizophrenic, and told everyone there were little purple people climbing all over the walls, but then people called you crazy, would you still be doing something right?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But none of those things have to do with GOD. The only reason I believe I'm doing something right is because God cleary said that this is what would happen. If I wasn't being persecuted for my beliefs, I wouldn't be standing up for them, and the likely reason for that would be because I was ashamed or scared to be laughed at. And in the Bible it says that if I am ashamed of Jesus, He will be ashamed of me, also.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Any sane person would tell you that you will be persecuted, judged, and criticized for believing in something insane. "God" is apparantly no different. The fact that the bible says you will be persecuted proves nothing. It's common sense that you would be persecuted for believing in a specific god, just as you would be persecuted for other outstanding opinions.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well then I think this argument has come to a closure. I don't agree with you, and you don't agree with me. We'll have to agree to disagree.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sure

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OP got what she predicted

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay Marriage: No. It's against the Bible. Like I've said in previous arguments, I have many gay friends who I love and I honestly consider them to be the most outgoing, funny, awesome people I know. But I don't agree with their actions. God: I think you know the answer :) of course. Abortion: Absolutely not. It's wrong. It's murder. Global Warming: Yeah! It's a natural cycle. And I even agree that we are speeding it up a bit. God calls us to be good stewards of our earth and recycling etc is being a good steward. But I DON'T think it should be made a law.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Woohoo! We need more people like you!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Woah there, if it really came down to it, I think I would prefer to spend my tax money on keeping criminals in jail, not delusionals in the insane asylum. We don't need more people like you. Sorry.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha, I find no offence in your words, only proof that I'm doing what's right by standing up for my beliefs. I'm sure Anonymous feels somewhat the same.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How is that proof? It's like saying "I know it's ok to kill people because everyone wants to put me in jail for it." LMAO! I actually can't help but laugh at your logic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The Bible says I will be persecuted and laughed at for my beliefs. When Noah built the ark, he was laughed at and mocked but he kept on building it, paying no mind to the people making fun of him. When the flood came, it was he and his family who were saved, and the people who laughed and mocked him died. To me it's proof that I'm doing what's right. And besides, it's not WRONG for me to stand up for my beliefs, so it's "right" anyway.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never said it's wrong to stand up for your beliefs, I just stated that your logic was flawed. Much like the rest of your fictional delusions. Sorry if that previous sentence offended you, but to be honest, people will always find a way to be offensive, and I also can't think of another way to describe it. To you it's proof because you are blind to the contradictions and the "pick and choose" system of the bible. Meaning you believe every single thing in that bible. Also meaning that you must obviously see the story of Noah's arc as valid. But to people who think logically, the story is in no way "proof" of doing the right thing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It doesn't offend me at all! Say what you want, it doesn't bother me. I don't believe in the "pick and choose" system of the Bible. And yes, TO ME it's proof. So obviously, other people who "think logically" don't matter. If it doesn't offend me because I believe it's proof that I'm doing what's right, then so be it. It shouldn't effect the "other people."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What I meant was that there were actually around a dozen gospels written, only a couple of which were chosen to be part of your religion. The others were regarded as incredulous and discarded (Although I am uncertain how they could possibly be more incredulous than the ones chosen). That is what I meant by pick and choose. So you admit to completely ignoring all logical arguements because you are certain of your God's existence?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ahhh, I see. Sorry, I misnderstood. And yes, I admit to that. To me there is nothing more logical than the existance of God.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ok as long as you admit to it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

youre very conservative, arent you? lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Conservative as in, resistant to or opposing change? Well, I know what I believe in, and I stand firmly by those beliefs, defending them to the fullest. And I know it doesn't seem like it, but I do keep an open mind. But I'm not the kind of conservative Christian that only wears skirts, listens to classical music and never experiences the outside world. If that's what you mean then no, I am not conservative. Haha, I'm QUITE the opposite.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahaha fair enough :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Heck, I'll join in. Gay Marriage: I'm a Christian, and I know it's against the Bible and all, but I think that if two people love each other and want to get married, they shouldn't be stopped. Maybe I'll go to hell for that. Whatever. God: Absolutely. Abortion: Completely wrong. A child has a right to live. Just my opinion. Global Warming: 40 years ago, it wasn't global warming, it was "THE ICE AGE IS COMING!" The temperature just fluctuates and goes through cycles. I do believe there's a hole in the ozone layer, but I don't think that it's as big as it's made out to be.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

See, what we really need are more people like YOU. The christians who may not agree with homosexuality, but don't want to deny them their rights. So, BlueRea, I thank you. :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay marriage: If two people love each other, they should have the right to be together no matter what sex. God: He is fake. Abortion: Is so wrong. It's murder. Global Warming: I think it is happening, but it's not going to be a big deal intill late in the future. That's just my opinions.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay marriage: Let them marry. If it makes them happy, go for it. God: Yes Abortion: This is iffy... Is a clump of cells dividing at a rapid pace a human life, or just a life? How does this compare to another mammal like a whale or a tiger? On top of that, you have to factor in the population problems that the world is having (should other countries regulate how many children one person should have based on the population rate and overcrowding?). Then there are the irresponsible parents that abuse their children. The list goes on and on and on. Global Warming: The world is pretty much in a chaotic state. The East Coast of the US just got out of a nasty winter and jumped right into a blazingly hot summer. It's a natural cycle driven by humans as well as other natural factors IMO. TBH, most of these issues aren't exactly black and white like most people think. Just because someone (or something) with authority says that X is "immoral", doesn't make it "wrong".

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay Marriage: I dont care if your in love with a toaster, if you both in love i think it's ok. God: I think no, but i have no problem with the people that believe in god AND have good morals because of the lessons they learned from their religion. Abortion: I think that as long as the fetus cant feel anything because it is not far enough along in it's growth it is ok. And GLOBAL WARMING: I think their is climate change. Yet i dont think that people effect it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Anybody else notice how these posts went from "Yes/No" to "Yes/No [insert additional comment]" to "Gay marriage: [Insert really long explanation here], God: [Insert really long explanation here], Abortion: [Insert really long explanation here], Global Warming: [Insert really long explanation here]" ??

by Anonymous 13 years ago

EVERYONE ON HERE SHUT THE FUCK UP. YOUR OPINIONS WILL CHANGE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. You're all ridiculous

by Anonymous 13 years ago

YES!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I LOVE YOU! You are so true. (also arguing won't help, it's nearly impossible to change a person's view)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Mmm, no. I think we have a right to discuss our opinions. And some people enjoy it! Life is a learning process, and seeing the opinions of others does our minds good. We can learn more about ourselves and our beliefs that way. This is a very good way to learn :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're on here. YOU SHADDUP. Your opinion that we shouldn't debate doesn't change my opinion that we should. Teehee.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We should kick off the morons who just say that things are a certain way with out exlpaining why they say that everyone else is wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In order: 1. Of course, it's not my life, why should I tell them what to do with it? 2. Yes, but others can believe whatever they want. 3. If I were in the situation, I wouldn't, but it's a big decision, and everyone has the right to make a choice. 4. We should be taking care of the planet anyway. You may call it being liberal, I call it being tolerant, and, at the very least, respectful.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You are the first person to not totally critisize every one else... Good job.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you. I found out long ago that I'm not about to change anyone, so I might as well learn to accept everyone's beliefs and ideas.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I like you a lot more then everyone else on here.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol...he was right

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Alright, time for me to join. Gay Marriage: Totes McGotes God: not really but believe what you want. Abortion: Pro-choice Global Warming: Don't care. I'll be dead by the time it gets serious.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

holy shit.. Gay Marriage-hell yes. Some of my really good friends are gay, and they are amazing. They have as much a right to get married as I do. God- again, definitely yes. Abortion- this is a grey area. Not one answer. I think that it should be a woman's decision. especially if she was raped, or something. Global warming- I know nothing in this area of research.... I do not know. We should try to care for the earth though. Some of you on here are frightening, by the way. None of these are black and white, straight up Yes or No questions. there are exceptions to every rule, too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And debate they did.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is ALOT of comments

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahahah some of u ppl r really gettin into this ^_^

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I love reading debates it's always hilarious! Also it's fun to join! =]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Let's see...Why not? Yes. I don't like it, but I'm not going to shoot a doctor over it. I'm hoping that won't hurt me too much in my life time. In order.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you know what i think? Homosexuality is about SEX, not love, so don't use that excuse. moreover, if you any two consenting adults should be allowed to do whatever they want, then you should also be fine with incest becoming legal. if you are not, then you are being hypocritical. end of story. and....i definitely believe in God, i think abortion is murder, and even if global warming isn't real, we should still take care of our planet. that is all :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm probably not going to change your mind, but homosexuality is about sex AND love. So is heterosexuality. A homosexual cannot fall in love with a member of the opposite sex (if he or she can, he's either bi or straight). Some of us are celibate, even. You can think what you will, but please don't dismiss our relationships as less worthy or less loving than yours. We are human beings. We love.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I love your username.... and how it relates to your point.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i didn't mean to imply that gay relationships are less "real" than straight ones. i'm just saying that being gay not about love. I love people the same gender i am, the only difference is i don't want to have sex with them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That is because you are not gay. If you're straight, you can't possibly imagine what it's like to fall in love (different kind of love) with the same sex. Homosexuality is not any more about sex than heterosexuality.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes, definately, before 2nd trimester, ?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes: God created man and woman, but he also created love and love knows no boundaries. The Bible was written by HUMANS during a time period that is very different than ours. A lot of things in it were written to help keep the population from dying out when there weren't as many people and plagues and diseases were a lot more common. I don't keep kosher today even though it talks about it in the Bible. Anyways, what others choose to do with their lives does not affect me or have anything to do with my religion. Plus, church and state should be separated. Discriminating against gays by not letting them get married is basically the same thing as discriminating against blacks by not letting them go to the same schools as whites. Yes! I'm love God and Jesus! All I have to do are look at the little things in life to know God exists! Yes: What if a woman gets raped? What if the condom brakes or the birth control fails? What if the woman becomes sick and will be put in...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

danger if she has the baby. What if she can't afford the expenses of having a baby. Orphanages are not as pretty as they sound. There are thousands of children who already need to be adopted. It is not always people being careless who are the ones who want abortions. Yes: the earth is heating up and humans are contributing to it. Whether it occurs naturally or unnaturally is something I'm not sure about.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(A@266608 (rainbowdog1969): Hmm... I don't really believe in God but I wish more Christians were as level-headed and logical as you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Amen to that!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The Bible was physically written by humans, but it was inspired by God. That means HE chose what was said, and had humans write it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the bible says "to let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone." What gives you the right to determine whether or not homosexuals should be allowed to get married. Second, a lot of stuff in the Bible was put into the Bible to keep the population from dying out at that time, such as eating kosher. By having man and woman reproduce, it would make the population larger so a plague or disease would not impact it as much. Third, while God inspired the Bible, he did not write it. That means the humans that wrote it had a some leeway while writing the books of the Bible. I believe that while the main ideas were inspired by God, they authors had some flexibility when writing the details.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I see your point, but I don't agree. I think they wrote what God said, and that was it. I don't believe they had any leeway at all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

One: Go for it, it's your life. Two: Watch the movie zeigeist. Three: Your choice. Four: Recycle, it saves you money anyways.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

All about the mula baby.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I COME IN PEACE!!! But, if you feel the need to comment on my beliefs, I cannot stop you. Okay, here we go! Gay Marriage: It is immoral. As a christian, I have to believe that. Unfortunately, I can't pick and chose the parts of the bible I like. Now before you jump all over me, let me first state that I do believe that gay people marrying each other has absolutely nothing to do with me. I'm not the one getting married. Their marriage is between them and God. It is not my job to be their moral compass. God gave us freewill who am I to take it away? It is their choice just like it's our choice when we sin. For example, premarital sex, adultery, stealing (including illegally downloaded music), being a drunkard, jealously, not respecting your parents are all completely and totally immoral but also our choice. Why hasn't anyone tried to pass a law that prohibits all that? Because we can't force people to stop sinning. We can only encourage it with all our hearts. Besides, a marriage cont...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You said you couldn't pick and choose which parts of the Bible to believe. Do you really believe that it is a sin to eat shellfish or wear clothes made with mixed fabrics? (this is an honest question; I really want to know)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol I honestly never thought about that in particular, but I guess it is. I guess I sin more than I thought. Hopefully, God can forgive me. I heard he is a very loving and forgiving person. =)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You said you were a Christian, right? So am I. I don't know which sect of Christianity you practice, but at my church, we focus mostly on the New Testament to show us how Jesus saved us from the consequences of our sins. We only really use the Old Testament to show how much God loves us. Those are our two main ideas in our church. One must remember that the Old Testament was written for God's FIRST people, the Jews.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ahh. you people make me laugh. i grew up, i respect other peoples opinions, if they respect mine. and im only 15 :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I just realized the rest of my post isn't showing. Obviously, I believe in God. Abortion is wrong, but I think I can turn the other cheek in extreme situations like rape and life-threatening to the mother type deals. As for reasons like not ready or can't afford it, the people involved knew there was a risk. So, they should take responsibility and find away to raise it or put it up for adoption. You shouldn't kill a baby because you weren't prepared. My mama said, "If you ain't ready for a kid, then don't have sex." Obviously, most people don't agree with that, but I do think they should think about it. We're not supposed to be having sex outside of marriage anyways. Oh and Go Green! =)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Something very interesting.... do you remember the story in the Bible, where Jesus healed the centurion's servant? (recorded in Matthew 8:5-13). The Greek word used for "servant" is pais, which is also translated to mean "male lover." However, at other times, Matthew used the word "duolos" to describe an ordinary servant. Also, the Gospels have many stories about Jesus healing their family members, but this is the only example of someone asking Him to heal their slave. The slave must have been significant to them, and it would make sense for the centurion to want to save his lover, wouldn't it? Jesus knew this, and he still healed the servant. So, He accepted this man, even as a homosexual. Therefore, I think gay marriage is perfectly acceptable and moral. (argument found in "The Less-Dead" by April Lurie)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But Jesus ALWAYS was kind to the gentiles, the sinners, and the poor. He was mocked for that. Plus he loves us all equally, gay OR straight. It makes perfect sense that he would heal the slave. I don't think that story shows that being gay is right, I think it just further shows the deep love of Jesus and his willingness to save all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God is real. Obama sucks. Abortion shouldn't exist. Gays shouldn't get married. Global Warming is just as stupid as lost. Have fun ripping on me

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You ignorant asshole. God is what used to be an explanation for what people couldn't explain before science, Obama could TOTALLY rock a fro if he wanted, Gays should get married if they want to; this revokes HUMAN RIGHTS!!!, and there is indisputable evidence that proves global warming is real. As for abortion, I'm pro-choice. I guess you could call me intolerant because I simply cannot tolerate those who are ignorant or intolerant of what others can't help. (Race, sexuality, ect.)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha, you mean stupid people?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly!

Just wondering... has anyone's opinion actually changed after one of these arguments? they never seem to get anywhere.. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you don't want a debate you're on the wrong site. Some people like to debate each other for fun, even if their opinions will not be changed by the argument. And maybe the two people who are debating won't be changed by the debate, but someone who is reading the debate and is unsure of the issue may - not saying it always happens, but it could.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh yes! Mine has changed many times. Especially about the whole global warming thing. I've read so many things on here that have made me stop and think, and even change the way I think. That's why I love coming on here! It helps me to learn :)

Oh dear OP I love you for this post ^^

For all of them besides global warming, the answer is "none of my business"

All of you against abortion, remember that you've probably killed and eaten tons of animals in your lifetime. And I'm not saying we should all go vegetarian, I'm just saying an innocent animal dying is worse than a fetus which can't even think and is therefor not really alive. And the woman giving birth.. Well all this has been put out there, but I'll repeat: Medical costs, bad adoption centers, possibility of rape, and so on. Everyone one respond: PRO-LIFE or PRO-CHOICE?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Pro-Choice

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My thoughts exactly!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the fetus is innocent too, my friend. and i don't care if it can't think. it's human. an individual that will grow to have it's own thoughts, fears, strengths, and weaknesses, just like anybody you know right now. and no one will ever convince me that it's better off dead than in an orphanage. pro-life. period.

How about with an abusive family?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the number of abortions in the united states since it became legal have skyrocketed. so has the number of cases of child abuse.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

apparently abortion isn't the answer to that problem.

Gay marriage: Yes, love is love God: yes, I know my previous statement contradicts this, but the world is a fucked up place anyways, so who cares Abortion: It's murdering a child. Deal with it, it's the persons own fault, unless it was by rape, then possibly, if they absolutely can't handle it. Global warming: Hollywood crap.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay marriage: Hell yes. Love is love, brah. "God": Beileve what you want, I personally think there's a huge family of Universes existing in another dimension, with one Universe assigned to each dimension. Also, iit is neither female, nor male. Abortion: Let the one who's pregnant choose. She's going to have to suffer for the rest of her life, not some two-bit politician who made it illegal. Global warming: It's natural, but does that make it any better? As far as we know, Earth is the only planet we can inhabit. We should take care of it, not kill it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So you're.....Pantheist?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There's SO many comments! The op was right.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay Marriage: Don't like it? Don't have one. Should be legal. No debate. God: May be real, may be not. People shouldn't be too sure they're right about whether or not he exists, because no one will ever know, at least until they're dead. Abortion: It should be a woman's choice. The fetus, early enough in pregnancy, cannot think or feel. It is a clump of cells. If the woman was raped/her life is in danger she should definitely be allowed to get an abortion. And if she made a mistake? Well then she shouldn't have to let it ruin her life. Global Warming: Real or not, we should take care of the planet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

9 months is not a woman's entire life, and if she did make a mistake she knew the consequences were a possibility. If she lacked that much self-control and absolutely could not stop her self from having sex then there are plenty of options, and combinations that could be used to prevent a pregnancy. Birth control + condom, and if the condom breaks, birth control + condom + plan B.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm surprised that people actually started arguing, when obviously the post was making fun of them. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay Marriage: Legalized, please. God: "The God Delusion" Enough said. Abortion: Pro-Choice. Don't tell a woman what to do with her own fetus. Global warming: It's a myth, the Earth goes through warming and cooling cycles. Let's see if any of that helps fuel this fire.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Allowing abortions because a woman can't handle it financially or mentally is wrong. Everyone woman I know that's had an abortion has regretted it and each of them feel that killing their own child has ruined their life more than the difficulty of having a child at an inconvenient time ever could have. Also if you allow women to get abortions because they were raped, it won't stop there. Many women will claim rape when it wasn't and men who had consenting sex could be punished for something that they didn't do. If that happens enough times then eventually the law will be extended to cover abortions for women who had sex with men they didn't want to have a baby with, and who knows how far it would escalate someday. History has shown us that laws (in the long-run) only become more and more relaxed. And in regards to "Don't tell a woman what to do with her own fetus", the fetus does is not her property. Just as children are not their parents property.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

For gay marriage, people should be able to live their lives and not have others tell them how to live it, so if they want to marry someone of the same sex, go ahead! For god, I really do not think he is real, but if you want to, go ahead and believe he's real. I can not tell you what to believe nor can anybody else. For abortion, depends on the situation. If the woman was raped or being pregnant puts her life in danger, she has the option to get an abortion. Global warming, I just don't know what to believe. The point is, take care of the Earth, it's the only Earth we got.

1. I don't like it, but they should have the right to do so. 2. Don't care (apatheist, if you will.) My life is fulfilling enough without worrying about religion. I'd like to believe there is something more...some form of an afterlife, but not in the sense everyone seems to be perceiving it (God, Heaven/Hell, etc.) 3. It should stay legal, and the person should have a choice regarding what they do with their body. Not the government, or any third person. 4. Global warming? Yes. Man-made? No. BS and profiteering. Do some research. Listen to some educated and uncorrupted scientists. It's all out there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gay Marriage- sure. God- too much evidence against it Abortion- only if the mother wil die and it was rape. I feel a zygote will become a human if you have some patience, and obviously killing a human is intolerable. Also, at conception a zygote becomes mare than just a regular old cell, becuase if you leave a skin cell alone it will become a million skin cells. if you leave a zygote alone it will become a human with time and nutrition Global warming- conspiracy, but we still need to take care of our planet for our kids sake.
