Why don't vampires get AIDS from all that blood they drink? amirite?

I always said that Bella from Twilight sho0uld have AIDS, because even if a vampire can't get AIDS he should be carrying it.

... and another home page post fail... why bother to question why something does or doesn't happen to something that doesn't exist? Some authors choose to say that vampires are immune to disease because of superpowers or because THEY'RE FREAKIN DEAD. Some authors say that while they don't get sick, if they feed from the sick they become carriers and spread it to other people they bite. Still others say vampires can smell illness on people and therefore avoid drinking tainted blood. One way or another, we're talking about fiction.

@fangirl12 Not really... Edward never drank human blood after AIDS came around. NOT that I don't wish Bella would have died... I'm on team guy-who-almost-smashed-her-with-his-car. xD

Edward's drank the blood of humans before, we don't know exactly when he stopped. Besides, he could have gotten it from an animal that was carrying the disease. P.S. I think that was Tyler.

On Law and Order: Criminal Intent it was this episode with this cult like group who were people who pretended to be vampires in real life. You had to get an AIDS test before you entered their "haven," or donated blood to their "cause." D;

Stupid question. You can ingest the AIDS virus and not get. Actually, it's pretty hard to ingest AIDS and get it, unless you have a cut in your mouth or on your lips.
