+92 When moving from a place like southern California to a place like Texas, the hardest thing to get used to is the bugs. amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Probably the heat. Southern California is really nice and not too hot or cold, whereas here in Texas, we were all surprised that it took until April to get up in the 90s.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes california's dry heat is nice, and the humidity in texas is very uncomfortable :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's all really a matter of perspective. Coming from California, almost anywhere in the east is humid. Most of Texas gets pretty dry in the summer. Meanwhile southeast Texas and the rest of the Gulf Coast are frickin ridiculous (like 90 degrees with a heat index of 115).

The wind in Texas is like a hair dryer. Not kidding. -__-

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's been over 100 degrees F over here for forever now -__-

I actually just moved from Texas to California, and it might just be where I live, but I have never before seen a place with so many flies. I don't miss the humidity, though.

I literally just moved from North Carolina to Dallas today and it is sooo hot. I call BS on all the people that were like "it's a different kind of heat"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It is a different kind of heat. Then again, it depends on where you live. Like El Paso, it's a very dry heat, but near Louisianna, it's humid, and so is a lot of West Texas.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

El paso heat is fucking horrible! Its 97 right now and its night!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What's yalls highest? It's like 91 here in Waco.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

highest ever??? Damn thats like 115

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh damn. Ours was only 110. Then again, I don't live in East Texas.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

neither do I. I live in far west texas

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I meant West. >.< I live somewhat near East, but more Central. I really need to stop typing stuff when I just wake up.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Hahaha I need to stop typing stuff when im in class

As someone who has lived in Texas their entire life, I've never noticed a lot of bugs. Maybe if you life in a small town like Brownwood

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I live In Texas as well and I haven't noticed the bugs either. I've drove through Brownwood a thousand times!! Ever heard of a town called kerrville?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No I've never heard of Kerrville. I was born in Brownwood actually.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I've been through Brownwood, and I've heard of Kerrville. Both are about 2-3 hours from Waco. As for bugs, there's tons of them, considering: fire ants, june bugs, wasps, spiders, scorpions, etc. You having not noticed them is probably having lived in Texas all your life.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Really the point is that there's hardly any bugs in Southern California - or northern where I live.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I just moved to Texas from Canada, and I cannot stand the heat, the highest it ever got in Canada was around 32 degrees, but here that's a joke! There's the heat, and then there's the June bugs, that I just can't stand.

People are talking about there Texas horror stories as if ALL of Teaxas is like that. You have to remember that it's a friggin huge state. Not all of texas is super windy, that's mostly west Texas, and the coast line. Not all of Texas is incredibly humid, that's east Texas. The panhandle actually can get decently cold and central Texas has some very dry heat.
