-1,214 you are either a cheerleader or want to be one, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i am a cheerleader and wanting to be one is stupid. because its just saying that you want to be one your just not good enough to try out or you just want to make fun of them which is stupid.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Because obviously, if someone really wanted to just make fun of cheerleaders, they would go through all the try outs and training and everything you have to do.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i don't care you don't make sense bye bye.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

woo. Typical cheerleaders.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

or its saying that your not old enough to be a cheerleader or you are physically un-able to become one

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think daisy made the case for all of us who never had any cheerleader envy *at all*... maybe you should work as hard in English as you do at cheerleading.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

^ Epic comment win! ^

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't care doesn't matter maybe i don't feel like spelling it wow I'm so sorry its such a bad crime sheesh.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@Elvis: why thank you; that means a lot coming from the King. xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I intend to never let my DECENDANTS become cheerleaders. That would be too harsh a punishment for anyone.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i would disown any of mine if they became cheerleaders.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wouldn't let them. I would teach them how wrong it is and how many people go bad after becoming a cheerleader

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah, i dont know one cheerleader who isnt a liar. i mean, the ones i know are always cheating on their boyfriends and sleeping around. and i dont know of one adult who was once a cheerleader who turned out a good person.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There was this girl who was new and she was really nice a sweet and she joined xheerleading the next year and now she's horrible and looks down on people and talks behind their backs. There's maybe one person on the team who is still nice. The others I hate (everyone else too)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yep, i know people like that, its sucks, because they used to be your friends.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly. And I'm not saying xheerleading is not a sport, it's just soooo not worth it

by Anonymous 13 years ago

then y'all obviously don't know any good people. my mom was a cheerleader, and she's not "sleeping around, talking behind backs, being stuck up, or being a horrible person" so seriously chill out w/ that stuff. i'm not trying to be a "bitch b/c i'm a cheerleader", but those are probably the most untrue things i've ever heard honestly. half of y'all probably say it's not worth it and stupid b/c you are afraid or can't do it. i'm not saying all of you- but you know who you are. so let's not put people down b/c of what they like k.?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ok, y'all.....i know plenty of good people, and none of them are cheerleaders. people change. do you know your mom wasnt like that is HS? im not saying she was, and i try not to stereotype, but all the cheerleaders i know are like that. i dont know if youre in like, a private kindergarten, but you have no idea what cheerleaders are like, ok?? read some of the other comments, me and Flexi arnt the only ones with this opinion. im also guessing youre a cheerleader, in that case your opinion means nothing to me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha YES i do know that she wasn't like that in HS.. and she married the guy she dated all four years, k? Just b/c you know plenty of good people that aren't cheerleaders, doesn't mean that some cheerleaders aren't good people. I'm not saying all of them AREN'T good people, but a lot of them are. Dude, I'm a high school cheerleader. I'm not in "private kindergarden","ok??". SO I obviously know what cheerleaders are like? ...Not everyone thinks whatever you do about cheerleaders, b/c some people actually get to know them. All of y'all talk about cheerleaders talking about people behind their backs, and yet you're doing the SAME thing to them. You won't tell them this to their faces, hypocritical much? I think so.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah, i would say it to their faces, i have to some. i used to be friends with a bunch of girls and then, they became cheerleaders and turned into sluts. so, you have your opinions, i have mine, whatever. and, of course, youre a cheerleader. typical of you to defend it. pretty defensive, huh? im done discussing this with you, youre a cheerleader, so youre a hopeless case. buh bye.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I honestly doubt that, not everyone just magically turns into a slut when becoming a cheerleader.. I do agree, though, that you and I both have our opinions and I respect that. Yeah, it is typical of me to defend it.. you would defend something you enjoy if someone was trashing it and the people hm? Yes, I'm such a hopeless case, since I stick up for myself and all but, ya know, that's just craazzyyyyyyy right, Bye! :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why because its so hard?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no, because it teaches kids and teens that putting on makeup, dancing around like a whore, and calling yourself talented makes you the most amazing person ever. This is all coming from a gymnast who has seen it happen many times.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, everyone who is a cheerleader (at least at my school) is not worth it since they all talk behind your back and make fun of you. They think they dominate and joining would worsen it. I understand that doesent always happen but everywhere I go it does. The cheerleaders all just turn cruel and it's just not something I am interested in.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The day I become, or even think about becoming, a cheerleader, someone just slap me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Same here. Except I'd prefer to be hit over the head with a shovel or something.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've never met anyone in high school who wasn't a cheerleader who said, "Boy, do I want to be a cheerleader!" It's pretty obvious a cheerleader wrote this. I suggest not being so full of yourself and your 'sport' (which was ruled to not actually be a sport) because you're not as liked at you think, honey.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not a sport.. that's great. look up some stunting videos and workouts that cheerleaders do, and then tell me it's not a sport..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It isn't a sport. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/2010/07/21/2010-07-21_cheerleading_is_not_a_sport_rules_judge_quinnipiac_university_cant_swap_volleyba.html Thank you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was asked to become a cheerleader, I couldn't stop laughing. I'm a JROTC cadet, cheerleaders are weeeak.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol you're pathetic xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why, because she would rather have some real talent than call herself an amazing athlete after taking cheerleading for a year? When really, in comparison to similar sports such as gymnastics, cheerleading is for people who can't handle being pushed past their limit?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah, so weak. since ya know they just throw people in the air and catch their dead weight. but DEFINITELY weak in comparison to people walking around like robots. and yes- we can in fact do sit ups, push ups, and have endurance.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know a really awesome cheerleader. She hates the people and the stereotype that comes with it, but she loves flying.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They didn't get any respect at any school I went to... I mean, if your main talents are being a bitch and showing off your ass, what do you expect? Gymnastics are cool, but the serious ones are way better. We just called them the football team's toys and wrote them off.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

at my school, I'll have to pay 300 bucks to be on the team. Screw that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Im a cheerleader and i have been cut before so ive been in both situations

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm on my school's color guard, and the cheerleaders are jerks to us, so, uh, NO, I don't want to be a cheerleader. They also say that cheerleading is a sport... it's not. At our school, all they do is pose.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah, some cheer squads are not sporty at all. but a lot of them contain true athletic ability.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Stop with all this cheerleading stereotype cause everyone says im one of the nicest people in the world and needs to learn how to be mean and it is a sport everyone who hasnt tried cheerleading thinks its not a sport but it takes alot of agility to be a cheerleader and we dont sit around a pose we may act like freaks on the side lines but during comp we actually do work really hard and win so SHUT UP and sorry about horrible grammar

by Anonymous 13 years ago

AMEN :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What the heck, people? Okay, cheerleading isn't a sport but you don't have to bash it. I'm a cheelreader, im not a whore and i dont screw every guy I see. The person who made this post is a made this post is a stuck-up bitch. Cheering does take a lot. We're not all stupid preppy blondes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

cheerleading is definitely a sport, and does take a lot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cheerleading can be hard! It might not be a sport, but we work just as hard! Everyday we run a mile, we do situps, push ups, lunges. And then we work on dancing, cheering, and lifting other people into the air! Not a single person on our squad is a liar, whore, etc.!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

cheerleading IS a sport. anything that contains physical activity, strength, and endurance is a sport all the way. :) i agree w/ you!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

...and yet more barely-readable posts from "cheerleaders". Only one of you has decent grammar. You're not helping your case, girls.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol <3

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not that it matters because of everyone having such a negative behavior towards cheerleaders here, but the cheerleaders at my high school were respectable, kind and committed to what they did. They weren't high school stereotype cheerleaders. I don't think it's right to bash cheerleaders when as long as they are good men and women who make up the team.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

amen

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you're not a cheerleader, whatever. If you never wanted to be one, good for you. If you're a band geek, you are awesome!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@daisy1315: with you it's not so much your spelling; you seem incapable of using punctuation. It's also not so much a crime as it is a crying shame. I feel sorry for you; life is gonna be rough when high school is over and you actually need a brain.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

who would want to be a cheerleader? hahahha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I get really annoyed when I read comments like this because NO, not all cheerleaders are stuck up prissy little bit*he's. I'm a cheerleader and I don't fit that stereotype at all. and if yoyu were a cheerleader you would understand how it is a sport because it is difficult and requires athletic ability. So get your facts straight before making comments like this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Athletic ability, but obviously not academic; the apostraphe before the s in "bitches" is completely uneccessary. Btw- if you want people to think you're not a bitch, you might want to not act like one when you post. Obviously, the majority of people have had bad, or at the very least unimpressive, experiences with cheerleaders. You're not doing anything to change their minds.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i'm a cheerleader. and most of the time we aren't bitches, or stuck up. and on my squad you have to keep an average above a C to stay on.. so. and it really is a sport, believe me- more so than chess, poker, or whatever.. some people just don't like cheerleaders b/c they are afraid to try out, or don't think they can do it. just saying.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

or, since they don't fit in w/ that "group" or don't think they can actually do it, they make fun of it to cover it up. ex "it's not worth it, it's stupid, and it's 'not a sport'."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, ok... I guess a C average is something to be proud of now...?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

um definitely not, b/c you have to have above a C average for it.. you know- an A or B.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cheerleading IS a sport. The real, competitive cheerleading. Not the whores jumping up and down in short skirts. Cheerleaders like everyone else on this planet can be nice or mean, slutty or a prude, dumb or smart. Or anywhere in-between. We should all just accept that we're all different. Let's put stereotypes aside.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree! And to people who say all cheerleaders are stupid, several people including myself are in all honors classes with an A or B average!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@Mandy: Stereotypes, as much as they suck, exist for a reason.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I love how this debate is still going, even though cheerleading's not even a sport and most people don't respect cheerleaders or their opinions. I've just been reading the argument and it is hilarious to the rest of us. Cheerleading = Go actual sport!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Before I say anything else, yes, I am a cheerleader. I'm going into my 9th season. We are responsible for keeping good grades, and if we don't we WILL be thrown off the team. I hate all of the cheerleader stereotypes. Anyone who says that cheerleaders aren't athletic or can't be pushed beyond their limits are completely wrong. Every practice we're pushed beyond our limits. I always have, and I always will defend cheering. It's an incredible sport (in my mind, it is a sport, no matter what the Supreme Court says), and it, and cheerleaders deserve credit for all of their hard work.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The issue wasn't really how hard you work, but how much of a bitch you are to your fellow students. Since you didn't even address that, I'm sure you're one of the stuck up ones who thinks because she had some gymnastics when she was younger, and genetics was kind, that she is somehow special or better than others. You're not, and once you're out of high school/college that fact will be very clear.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

stop commenting!now! or i will ava kedavra you! i didnt read half of them and i could already tell that its all just two sides not understanding eachother! ok cheerleaders arent sluts who sleep around! im a cheerleader and there is only one girl on my squad who has lost her virginity! thats one out of 30 and people who arent cheerleaders i understand yall i used to make fun of them and think the same things you do but i was wrong! cheerleading is a sport that involves commitment and lots of work! i really wish i wouldnt haver posted this! not because so many people disagree but because of all these pointless notifications im getting so just shut up! im not pretending i know everything im just sick of all theses dang comments

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cheer leading's intense. I was a cheerleader for two years and met some crazy people. This one chick really hated me (and believe me, I'm not widely hated. I'm pretty meek) so she would drop me on purpose. Broke 3 bones that year. The next year, I accidentally broke a girl's nose. It's definitely not safe but it is pretty fun. I don't see why so many people say it's not really a sport and make so many assumptions about the people who do it. I have a 4.0, do plenty of extra curriculars, am not a bitch or anorexic/bulimic. I just enjoy cheer leading. Not the stereotypes or some of the girls who like doing it but memorizing routines, dancing, and especially stunts. It's a way to get exercise that isn't dead boring. So why shouldn't I be doing it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not if your a male....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They are people like me, who don't want to be a cheerleader and not one either.
