+213 No one ever seems to know that a Rapunzel is a vegetable and not just a couch-potato in a tower who needs a hair cut, amirite?

This sounds like a veggie tales premise.

People who know the actual story probably do.

The real brothers grimm story is better and more dramatic than the movie. She was named rapunzel because when her mother was sick the only thing that would make her better was rapunzel from a witches garden.

Nope. Rapunzella is a diminuative, meaning "little radish" in Latin. (rapem=radish). The witch named her that because she remembered the radishes having been stolen from her garden. :)
