why is eminem all of a sudden some sort of god? because he 'raps about life, not drugs and sex'? obviously the only 2 songs of his you've ever heards are not afraid and love the way you lie.

Hailies Song, When I'm Gone, Cleaning Out My Closet, Like A Toy Soldier, Til I Collapse, and there are more. Obviously you* are the one who hasn't heard many of his songs. Yes, he does rap about goofy shit too like drugs and sex and the media but that just shows that he knows how to be real and have fun.

no, i definitely went through an eminem phase, so ive heard a lot of his songs. sure, a few of his songs were about just life, but for every song like that, he has 2 more that are about drugs/sex or both. not to mention in most of his songs he has to call out other artists. don't get me wrong, i like eminem, but people are starting to obsess over him.

The point is that most rappers have tons and tons of songs about drugs/sex, but many of eminems best songs are about real things. I don't believe he has 2 songs about drugs/sex for every song about life, but he does mention that sort of stuff a lot. I just feel like that's part of reality, but not the main focus. Also, who are the "people" who are obsessing over him? In my school the only eminem stuff people are obsessed with are like, "love the way you lie" e.t.c

That's not true his songs about even out on either. & That's sort of his thing. Its just something he does to be funny. It not like he means anything by it. I've always been an Eminem, since about age 6. Not only because of his music though. I've always admired that he rose above all the things that held him back from his dreams despite the life he lived before all the fame.

This. Eminem is famous for "shocking" people with his obsene songs. As for drugs the title of one of his albums is "Relapse" and several of his songs are about drugs. I'm not saying he doesn't have any good songs or anything like that, but saying "he only raps about real stuff like his daughters" is just a blatant lie and people need to realize that.

haha, nobody's arguing with you. I agree with Nicole I think that his raps seem more "real" than other ones, but he does rap about stuff like drugs and media, too. I don't think he only raps about real stuff like his daughters, I just think he's awesome.

Lil Wayne I think I'm in Love - Gucci Mane Soundtrack 2 My Life - Kid Cudi The Prayer - Kid Cudi Man I Miss My Dawgs - Lil Wayne Dead and Gone - T.I. Ft. Justin Timberlake Live Your Life - T.I. Ft. Rhianna Something You Forgot - Lil Wayne Echo - Gorilla Zoe Dysfunctional - Tech N9ne Demons - Tech N9ne Ft. Three 6 Mafia My Own Way - Three 6 Mafia Ft. Good Charlotte So Eminem isn't really as "revolutionary" as people make him out to be.

I actually have to agree with you there. Somebody can like/love Eminem all the want, it only annoys me when they say that no other rappers have any meaningful songs and all of his are.

hes not famous for his 'obscene songs' everyone is obscene and has been long before Em. he's famous for his sick lines and amazing skill. lyrically he is the best rapper out there and RIGHTFULLY so. i am one of the biggest Wayne fans out there, because of his style, but if you actually listen to the way Em can ryhme not only words, but syllabuls....it just blows your mind.

I disagree with this because he is the greatest alive and he deserves to finish on a good note before he retires, and he can only do that by showing that he runs circles around everybody else in the game. He can't do that if everybody else is taking a backseat. I say that they step their game up and give Marshall a challenge. But these up and coming artists, though some are not too new, deserve some respect too: J. Cole, Wale, Lupe Fiasco, XV, Chris Webby, Mac Miller, Jon Connor, Los, etc. Emphasis on J. Cole ;)
