When you think about it, it's really not neccessary to say "Shut the fuck up". Adding that "the fuck" in the middle isn't going to help your case, except to serve the purpose of angering the other person further, amirite?

Actually I'd be more pissed off if someone said "Shut up" than "Shut the fuck up". The former makes me think of an 8-year-old who's guilty of something stupid and can't think of any other defense for their argument, thus making me want to punch something in the face, while the latter makes me think of someone who's pissed off in general, which I'm fine with.

Yeah I agree with the guy above. Plus it puts so much more emphasis on the fact that you want them quiet.
