I say thank you more than anything.. mostly because I worked in customer service for 5 years. It's always, "thank you!" and then I say, "thank you! Have a nice day!" Your welcomes are never exchanged.

I say yes ma'am,no ma'am,yes sir,no sir ,please,thank you, excuse me...mabey the yea ma'am no ma'am thing is just a southern thing...?

When someone from another class comes to mine to ask for something, my teacher won't give it to them until they say please and thank you. He just waits until they realize or everyone tells them why they aren't getting what they need.

Um... I do all the time, as do a lot of my friends. As someone said up there, maybe saying please, thank you, excuse me, etc. is a southern thing.
