Murder- You take someone's life. Rape- You give life to someone. How is rape better then murder?

ummm...you people seem to think that you get a child whenever you rape someone, but whatever. The thing is when someone gets raped it's not a pleasant expierence, which they have to get over, maybe for the rest of their lives, but if you get murdered there's no more life and a basic human right is the right to live, so for me MURDER IS WAAAAAY WORSE MAN

Rape-forced sex. You get hurt, bruised. Eventually, it will heal. Murder- killing someone. You don't get the right to live naymore because some idiot decided you shouldn't have it, when obviously they shouldn't. Murder can't be healed.

Think of this. If somebody came up to you with a gun and said "Rape or Murder", which would you choose? Over time, those who have become victims to rape end up getting healed, no matter what the road. Murder cannot be healed. It is permanent.

Um, yeah, I would, because I like being alive. I like my family, and I like my friends, and I like music, and I like sports, and I like helping people, and laughing, and playing cards. I could put up with pain and medicine for a few years if it meant spending more time with the people I love.

Yes, the physical side of rape will heal. But imagine the emotional side. That wouldnt heal. Therapy cant heal that. And if you feel pregnant you would have that constant reminder of that horrible horrible time in your life. You could petentually ruin two lives, not just one like muder will. They are both horific but the thought of rape scares me more then death.

Both are horrible! Why even bother with comparison? PS: You guys that think you can just 'get over' rape need to go to a support group for rape victims and listen to those people. I think your opinion will change.

It takes a lot of work, and I'm not trying to downsize the traumatic experience at all. However, I personally know people who have been raped, and are now doing okay. I KNOW people can recover. does it suck? Yes. Is it hard? Of course. But it's not impossible to lead a normal life after being raped.

just cos you are doing ok doesnt mean youre not affected by it everyday and constantly reminded for the rest of your life. rape effects who you are, your relationships, your behaviour and your perception on everything. having said that, i really dont think you can say overall. it depends on the circumstances

At least if a rape victim commits suicide, it was their choice to die. I'd rather make that choice for myself than have someone else just take that away from me altogether. Like yeah, if my emotional baggage was bad enough, or if I got a disease and was in pain all the time, then I might kill myself. But it least *I* got to make that decision. With murder I wouldn't even have the choice of whether or not I wanted to live anymore.
