hate to burst your bubble but accents aren't genetic

Hate to burst your bubble, but he means since the child would pick up the language and hence, accents which would be heard around the house.

But if they spend a lot of time around other kids they're likely to pick up the accent that's most popular amongst his friends. George Harrison, who was Liverpudlian, had a kid with a woman with an American accent, and his son sounds like a fairly posh guy from somewhere around London, cos that's where he grew up

I grew up in a household of heavy German accents, and I do not have an accent. So it just doesn't work that way.

I actually have a friend who is EXACTLY this...Since he grew up in Jamaica he has an accent like them, but dont get me wrong,he speaks proper english. Not that "YEEHHH MOOONNN" crap that everyone thinks Jamaicans do

I know kids who grow up with different accents and they can switch between accents at will.

That sounds like a superpower I'd wish for.
