He guessed 8 matches of the World Cup correctly with his tentacles, including Spain's victory over the Netherlands in the finals. However, News Results on Google say he's retired now.

Apparently they just lay the Country's names on the ground and whichever the octopus goes to, that's his 'prediction'.

They have different colored flags that represent all the country's flags, and he swims to them and picks one.

Actually, Paul (the oracle) retired after Spain's victory. And angry germans already sent in tons of callamari recipes, only after he correctly predicted their loss to Spain.
