people like you should just fuck off. I left school when i was fifteen and have still been studying since that (im from australia and im studying at tafe) and im going to one of the top uni's next year and on top of that ive been working so stop looking down on people that have dropped out of school. School isn't a place for everyone.

You sir need to calm down. I didn't say you were a disgrace to humanity for dropping out of school. All I said was life will be much harder if you actually DO drop out of school.

Thats quite a stereotype that your making, saying that everyone who has dropped out is gonna have a harder life, I'm gonna put money that you are a very sheltered person.

You can't get a high paying job like a doctor if you don't know anything

I know lots of people including me who dropped out and i worked in oil fields getting paid 107K a year.

School isn't for everyone. I dropped out early and went to TAFE and I have decent paying job, just the school system wasn't for me. Lots of people drop out of school and get a trade. Don't assume everyone who drops out of school is uneducated and struggling.

I totally believe that school is not for everybody. You are from Australia correct? It seems like Australia just takes care of people better than here in America. An American person that drops out may have it harder, the mentality here seems to be "you will never be successful and happy unless you get good grades and go to college and conform to society" I know this isnt true, its very possible to be happy. I always say, it doesnt matter how much money an individual makes as long as they are happy and healthy (because thats what really matters)

Hmm that's true, Australia does take care of it's people better, it seems, than America does. And we probably have more options other than school. But the post wasn't directed at just Americans : P

yeah true, I was just assuming that the OP could be american. I think the only option that dropouts have here other than trying to go back to school is getting their GED. Australia seems like a happy corner of the world.

Our system isn't perfect over here, but for the most part it works well. But even in America can you get an apprenticeship (like for electrition or plumber etc) without finishing school? Or start your own buisness? Even if there arn't many options their must be some : /

I was very aware of the consequences of my decision when I made it, and it remains the best decision I have made. And I'll thank you to not assume a 'holier than thou' position if you choose to respond.

I'm 50/50 on this. My dad dropped out at 15 I believe because his mom kicked him out and he had to work full time. Today, he makes about $30 an hour time and a half saturdays and double sundays...I dropped out/got kicked out my freshman year. Went to an adult school and got my diploma. Started beauty school august '08 still there now (minor set backs...major car accident:() and am already working with a company working a few hours saturday nights getting $400+ a night plus a shitload of benefits and exposure. Not everyone gets lucky breaks like that though. Statistically, a high school dropout WILL struggle financially and what not :/

(:)): Please dont be offended, but this company you work saturdays and make 400+ a night....is it a strip club? nothing against it at all, its an fun easy way to make good money. A friend of mine used to do it and she isnt a skank or anything like that (a common misconception of dancers), she's actually quite a wonderful person.

nope :) and I'm not offended, I would have assumed the same lol. I'm a makeup artist for a company that does all kinds of events. we've just recently had our models in body paint, but its super classy, the paint covers more than a bikini would. We promote our company, which does spray tanning, hair, makeup, and events. The girls dance, serve drinks, pose for pictures or whatever else whoever hired us wants. But again, we keep it classy. :) and what I make depends on how many models/the event itself.

(:)): Thats way fucking cool. I love art myself and body painting is bad ass. I did theater make up for a couple of my high school productions, it was pretty fun. I would love a job like that, aside from being tied up saturday nights lol. I totally get how nudity/painted nudity is classy, I am one who isnt even really offended by nudity (unless someone is literally sexually harassing someone) I think it would be cool to be a suicide girl, classy original pin-ups of tattooed/pierced/different girls. But yeah that is awesome xD
