because tv doesn't need to be 3D. The real world is in 3D so why not go out there? Essentially it's almost attempting to replace the outside. Sad.

Well there are a lot of things you are never going to see anywhere but on a TV, so it might as well look as realistic as possible.

well if someone can afford an unnecessarily large 3D tv so make things seem as realistic as possible, my vote is that they could probably afford to see/do a few things around the world

True, but most things that happen in movies don't happen in the real world, and even if some of them did you won't be able to follow people around to watch the whole thing. You're never going to just walk outside and see a whole action movie happening no matter where you go.
