I'm trying to figure out why that doesn't annoy me. I think the atmosphere in a packed movie theater is contagious and clapping at the end is just a final way of expressing gratitude for the movie before the audience clears and never forms again.

Ya, I feel like everybody clapping at the end makes everyone seem like a family, and that we appreciate sharing this awesome experience together
