I was reading a novel that was a model's memoir ( called I believe Model by Cheryl Diamond) that said they look less for traditional beauty and more for what would provide some dramatic flair to a photo. Like this girl Cheryl has a nose that is too big to be considered in the popular standard of beauty but photographers loved it because it was dynamic or something.
