i was hoping someone commented it im googling it and coming back

by Anonymous 13 years ago

apparantly they use the birds as like "the girl" and the laying of the egg is ovulation and then the sperm (bees) like sting it... etc etc

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've heard the main concept of it but not using the terms "birds and bees"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think that there's such a thing as "the birds and the bees story," I believe that it's just a term for "the Talk."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why is it even called the birds and the bees anyway? Not like it really has anything to do with either birds or bees.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The birds and the bees" (sometimes expanded to "the birds, the bees and the butterflies" or "the birds, the bees, the flowers, and the trees") is an idiomatic expression which refers to courtship and sex, and is usually used in reference to teaching someone, often a young child, about sex and pregnancy. The phrase is evocative of the metaphors and euphemisms often used to avoid speaking openly and technically about the subject.

Good explanation, but what I think people were saying was that they wanted to hear the actual story, not an explanation of what it is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There is no actual story! How do you not get this? It's just a code name for the Talk. But nobody actually tells a story about birds and bees.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I see what you're saying, but The Birds and the Bees story is a lot more kid friendly way to give the Talk and people wanted to hear it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dumb shit...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

According to wikipedia- birds and the bees is a metaphorical traditional story that sometimes told to children and there's different versions. That's were the code name derived from.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how do the birds and the bees relate to each other?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My dad just gave me "the talk" straight up, no metaphors or analogies or anything.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dude. I had four talks. I have the masturbation talk, sex talk, condom talk, and a rape talk. ( the rape talk was because our school football team was accused of rape)
