+155 The Arizona immigration law isn't racism like how some people make it out to be, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what is the arizona immigration law?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its all about RACIAL Profiling.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Isn't it just the federal law, but a step up? If they pull you over/you commit a crime, they can and will ask you for your license/I.D./etc.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I live in va and my BFs uncle isn't allowed to be here so if he gets pulled over he's screwed

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(hisbaby<3): If he isn't allowed to be there, then he shouldn't be there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're a fag. PS. 103 posts in a month shows that you're a fatass who has nothing to do. Get a job.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh stop being an asshole, I don't care who she is or what she spends her time doing, if she's right she's right. And she is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Laws are set for a reason, there are too many immigrants who dont pay taxes, like Mexicans in the US have all this mexican pride, but why are they here if its so swell down there

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you noticed, most of my posts were made via cell phone. I don't just sit at home, on my ass, all the time. But, I don't care. Because I. am. right!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I live in az. Its gotyen so bad therr was 8 deaths in one week. It wasn't like this before. I'm for it

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The law itself isn't racist, but one of the main motivations behind it is racism. If the judge's ruling about it is undone, then it will allow racial profiling.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It is completely racist. It allows cops to pull people over based on the color of their skin...people can call it profiling or whatever they want but that's basically what it is. People getting pulled over because of skin color and getting asked for papers.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah like Chinese people are definitely jumping the border (but they still have a chance of getting asked for their papers).... and yeah people get pulled over but if they have their papers, it shouldn't be a problem.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Your post doesn't make any sense at all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

chinese people don't 'jump' the border. theyre a whole ocean away, and its pretty hard to get from there to here, and get in without being caught...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Optimus Prime): i thinks that was the point, that Hispanics are more likely to get asked because in a way it is easier to get in because they are closer.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Teenagers get pulled over & their liscences checked more often than adults just to encourage safe and legal driving. That's like age discrimination, but no one cares about that either because it makes us safer over all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

its different getting licenses checked and getting papers checked

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hardly, you dont deserve to drive if you dont have your license, if you lack papers, you should stay in your country until you can legally cross

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, and illegal immigrants are SUCH a big threat to our safety.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They actually are,and we have to pay more taxes to support them,if you have not gotten permission to enter this country from our goverment, then you shouldent cross the border at all

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Taxes are a threat to safety? Maybe financial security, not safety. Plus, how do we pay more taxes for them?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

our jobs, taxes ...sounds like a big threat to me

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not a threat to safety. Yeah, financial security, but whatevers.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

drug cartel? that's dangerous

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm pretty sure that all of them aren't carting drugs. Not even most. Maybe some, and then the Columbians or whatever. And even if they were legal immigrants do that too, so..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

just throwing something dangerous out there, i know not all of them are not but 1 is still too many

by Anonymous 13 years ago

if I could click no way more than once, I would have. there are lots of people here legally who are Hispanic (myself included), who shouldn't get stopped simply because of who we are. there are so many illegal immigrants here that aren't even from Hispanic countries anyways.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're fighting with America... Land of the fatass haters who kept blacks as slaves not too long ago.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

uh hello LOTS of countries kept slaves, blacks included, 'not too long ago'. Jamaica was actually a lot worse about this than 'America', which isn't even the name of the country

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How can you get here illegally from other countries? by boat? you sure as hell cant fly here, and you go through great lengths, just stay in your own country or come legally and contribute to our economy, the US's population is going up, but the birthrate isnt

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People wouldn't be pulled over simply because of their skin color, they'd be pulled over for doing something wrong like speeding. If they can't prove they're citizens or here legally, no matter what their skin color, then cops have the authority to do something about them being here when they shouldn't be. A lot of people don't realize that out of all people who are considered to be illegal in Arizona (and the rest of the country) many are Hispanic, but there are also tons of people from Europe and Asia that have just as much to worry about. The law isn't racist, it's the people interpretting the law to mean that Hispanics are the only people who will be affected who are making it a race issue.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's viewed as racist because there were many mexicans, but still, people need to calm down, Americans dont go crossing borders into mexico, like just enjoy what you have. ps your post was at 11:11

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it is wrong but not racist

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wow. good argument there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its definitly not racist. But even if it was, you have nothing to worry about if you're legal. And especially when it comes to driving, being illegal is not something to play around with. Bottom line, if you're illegal you have no right to be here. So the police have every right to ask for papers.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They should just get everyone in their county/town/city/w.e to send in their papers. The illegals would get caught because they have no papers. Probably won't work though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That wouldnt, the people would hide during that time

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@the fresh prince: how is it different? You can't get a license if you're not legal.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

point proven. People on this post are just talking without knowing without is going on in AZ. I live in Arizona and racial profiling has always existed... it's nothing new. Is it unfair and ridiculous? Completely! It's about time that this topic gained interest of the public. Americans claim that Mexicans need to leave the US... take a look at Arizona's economy ever since the immigration law was passed. The American economy needs Mexican labor in order to survive.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, the American economy need the labor of American citizens to survive. There was a hotel that used to pay it's workers above minimum wage, but once the owners figured out that they could pay illegal immigrants $3 an hour for the same job, they fired the legal citizens, and hired illegal citizens under the table. Hence why jobs are so hard to find. Who the hell is going to pay minimum wage when they can have the same job done for less? Additionally, since they are undocumented and under the table, the companies do not have to pay for health care or any other benefits. Starting to see a trend yet?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm just gonna say a few things here. I LIVE in Arizona, and I don't even care about this law, honestly. I'm 14, I don't have the right to vote on it, so I don't see the point. That doesn't mean I think it's fine to be racially profiling people, but I don't even know what the law is for. And I just wanted to put out there that just because I'm from AZ, doesn't mean I hate Hispanics. Because for some reason, people have this crazy preconceived idea that everyone from AZ is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*does

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A lot of people also don't understand that the law isn't just about illegals taking jobs or cops being able to racially profile, az has a HUGE problem with drug cartels. They're not all from mexico but the vast majority is. Along with the drugs comes a shit load more problems, obviously. Wanting to get rid of a problem is for the safety of everyone else. But come on, why is it such a big deal if you're a legal citizen? Its also not racial profiling when a cop pulls over that piece of shit beater with no registration then asks for the drivers identification. EVERYONE that is pulled over is asked for that. White, black, yellow, orange or purple. Get the fuck off that high horse dipshits.

...will i be getting eggs and chorizo?
