I've had to give a urine sample while on my period. It doesn't matter to the doctor because they can tell menstrual blood from regular blood.

Not for me. Because I have three little siblings, I still go to a pediatrician. The nurse was freaking out 'cause I tested for a LOT of blood.

Oh, dang that sucks! I still go to a rediatrician too, but a lot of her patients are "kids" that are going into college soon so i guess she's learned to ask. I was at the end of mine, so it wasnt that much blood

if you urinate while wearing a tampon, there won't be any blood in it because the blood&the urine dont come from the same place

Happened to me. The doctor threw it out and said, "Meh. It was just to make sure your kidneys are okay. And based on /somethingshesaid, they seem okay. Now, onto the actual problem..." And I tried the whole just-watch-where-you-hold-the-container thing. It didn't work well.

yeahh but my friend had to do some random drug test at school and she doesnt wear tampons...so...it was a very bloody sample and she just ran outta there! hahahaha

Yeah thats happened to me too, and it was extremely akward when the nurse came and asked me in the hallway if i was on my period. lol

It happened to me on my first urine test , right before surgery , and i just got my period . And i just peed in the cup and the doctor said that makes it even better . Lol . its seriously not that bad unless you have like a heavy flow

Yeah that happened to me once.. Not a big deal. The nurse just said that she can test it any way as long as there was some urine in the cup.

I don't understand how being on your period affects your urine. Does this mean all of you wear pads? Because urine and menstrual blood come from entirely separate places...I only wear tampons, maybe that's why I don't understand this predicament.

I am going to get my test today, Lol. Literally just started my period yesterday, and heavy flow. Glad I just bought tampons Lol.

Tampons are not comfortable for me whatsoever and hurt like hell to get out even if they are saturated. Which is why some people use pads.

Actually you not supposed to test the urine while you are on period. Some have heavy duty blood menstruated.... it depends on where you at, but not all of them will do it.
