+312 Just think about it. Flying cars wouldn't help reduce traffic. If anything, it would make traffic worse, not to mention block out the sun and the sky. amirite?

Yeah, but then you could drive above or below someone, not just side by side

by Anonymous 12 years ago

the turn signals for that would be ridiculous.

Wh-.... How would they make traffic worse? Many times more "lanes" and lanes ON TOP of lanes.... So, by your logic, more space =.... less space?.... What is this, I don't even....

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It would be easier to crash.

Not if the cars had it built in to remain on a certain altitude preset by hovering beacons placed in the sky. Then, it'd be practically the same as driving on a road, only with a third ..... dimension... Oh great. Just another thing we need in 3D....

Sure, they'd block out the sky, but definitely not make traffic worse.

Imagine wrecking one of those.

plus there is literally no point in making them.

The only way I could see them reducing traffic is limiting the number of "drivers": a lot of people can't drive well, so who in their right mind would let them fly? Weaving in and out of lanes is hard enough in 2D; adding a vertical component is just nuts. Regulating what counts as a lane would be so much harder for mini aircraft than for cars. Yes, I realize that I'm taking this too seriously.

I'm assuming if we ever did get flying cars you would need a 2D license to drive on the ground and a 2D AND 3D license to use a flying car.

You better not run out of gas =)

Oh and just think of how the bullying will upgrade! "ha ha! Look at this loser guys! His car is still on the ground! What a dork!"
