+583 Love is NOT a decision, it's a feeling. Amirite?

Bullshit, love is neither a decision nor a feeling, it's an illusion that's been blown way out of proportion by society.

Keep saying that till you do fall in love.

I have fallen in what I, until recently, believed to be love. Then I screwed my head back on, slapped myself in the face and thought "stop being so fucking stupid".

Well if your relationship was still alive, you wouldn't be here saying this would you?

Depends if I had changed in the same way that I have over the last couple years

Everyone has some sort of love for someone else, whether it be a parent, a pet, a sibling, spouse, etc. Love is a feeling that can't be avoided, no matter what changes you've went through..

Agreed.

I believe strongly in love but you have to understand that what most people perceive as love is often infatuation. When someone has a situation that makes them lose their faith in love it's often because it wasn't love to begin with. Not everyone gets to experience true love in their life.

love is a verb. It is something you choose to do. It goes past the initial feelings. You choose to love someone in spite of the inevitable hard times. The feelings you feel are a result of the love you give and the love others give you.

You can't stop or start to love. Whether it be your siblings, your parents, your pets. Friendship is a love in its own way. I have tried, you can't stop, you can only pretend it doesn't exist and/or stop seeing them. You can't live a life without love.

Voldemort did.

Disagree! Love is definitely a decision. It's your mentality that is the basis of so many marriages that fall apart. One day you're not going to feel that feeling for your spouse any more. Is it over then? Or do you CHOOSE to continue loving them, whether or not you feel like it.
