I'm pretty sure the average person doesn't automatically think "WOW she's so hot, I bet we would make really good-looking children together!"

attractiveness = healthiness... at least in your subconscious. that's why we're attracted to "attractive" people because our mind associates them with being healthy so they can readily make healthy children, not necessarily good looking ones.
