+132 People who are vegetarian because they don't like the meat industry, should do more than just complain about it, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You mean like not contributing to the industry by buying and consuming their products?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I meant that being a vegetarian is actually doing something and not just complaining. Does that makes sense lol?

Why does everyone care so much lately about vegetarians? Why are you so concerned with what people do and don't do for causes you don't even care about? It's ridiculous. It's a kind of //diet//, they're not doing anybody harm, so why don't we leave them alone.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

We would leave them alone but they won't leave it alone themselves.

That's the same logic I use about bestiality! ....wait, too far?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Haha, absolutely not! ;)

I'll be honest with you, I know some vegetarians, and they've never acted superior to me. Ever. They don't give a fuck about what I eat so why should I give a fuck what they eat? Like I said, it's a diet. Not bestiality. How can you even relate the two?

Every vegetarian/ vegan I have met has been an ass to everyone I know.

I'm a vegetarian and I'm not an ass to people who eat meat, I live with my boyfriend who does and it's not a big deal, I usually cook and he eats my vegetarian food but if he wants meat he has some. Our diets have never been an issue.

I'm not saying that everyone is like that but the people that I have met bragged about being vegetarian.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

And I've met people who brag about the insane amount of meat they eat, or make a big deal about eating meat around me. Like they would go on and on about how they were eating a dead animal that was confined and how I should be ashamed for not stopping them. I just say that it's their own business what they eat, because that's the way it should be, right (excluding some situations obviously, like cannibalism)? There are assholes everywhere, just because some are vegetarian and some are omnivores doesn't mean that people should be stereotyped because of it.

To brunetterox915, I was in no way comparing vegetarianism(?) to bestiality. I am a vegetarian myself and I in no way condone bestiality. It was simply a joke

I think not all, but many to most veggies I know do far more than complain. They live with a strong environmental responsibility. They reduce, reuse, recycle, conserve, advocate for animals and so on. I personally do not know many who stop at just the dietary portion. To me, vegetarianism is a way of viewing the world, not simply refusing to eat meat.
