rhythm and blues. beyonce and michael jackson are both R&B singers, but i don't know what R&B specifically sounds like.

(A-non-e-mouse): Michael and Beyonce leaned toward pop, a little more than R&B. She was more R&B when she was with Destiny's Child. Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo would probably be a more accurate representation of R&B.

I remember this was a topic on a forum I used to read. Someone pointed out that a bunch of other genres of music shared problems with rap. Basically, he was defending rap by saying it combines the worst of lots of genres, and puts them into one.

All genres are good. I'm sure this is just in the negatives, because people assume rap and r&b are horrible, because of the mainstream artists associated with those genres. There are good musicians in every single genre though. Or possibly, because you said always the best.
