+107 You have herd your parents tell you to "clean your room, the cleaning lady is coming over tomorrow. Amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

heard*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't have a cleaning lady like some of these rich kids. I have to clean my own room. That being said, I don't clean my own room.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

same.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I had a cleaning lady about once a week, but we only had her for about a month. My mom said, "Clean your room! Her job isn't to clean up your messes!" Uh...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not all of us are rich enough for expecting other people to do things for us. I have to clean my room today. And the entire house.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cleaning lady? Psssshhhht, I'm not rich.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Like a herd of gazelles?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Rich? You don't need to be rich to have a cleaning lady. Here everyone has a maid at least twice a week. O.O

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Where is "here"? Just because everyone in your area has a maid, that doesn't mean that you don't have to be rich to have a maid, you could just live in a well-off area.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no, here is South-Africa. There are a lot of 'previously disadvantaged' woman who clean for money. They literally knock on your door looking for work. About fifty bucks a day or something. I actually live in quite a shitty area...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm guessing South African? :P We only have one once a week and she doesn't clean my room.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Proudly South-African, yes. =D. I also prefer to clean my own room. They never put the stuff where you want it and it kinda feels like invasion of personal space.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm the same way, she does my floors and that's it. I'm able to do my room. Make sure everything is where it's supposed to be.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, but I don't really want the cleaning lady to have to pick up my dirty underwear...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Need more lemon pledge...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I had no idea there are that many rich people or people that come from rich families on this website.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My rich cousins have a cleaning lady. My aunt apparently goes into a cleaning frenzy the day before the cleaning lady comes over. We think she's trying to impress the cleaning lady, but none of us understand why, since she's basically saying "hello, I don't actually need you to clean, so why don't you come wander around my big expensive house and I'll pay you for it."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When I first moved out on my own it was into a basement apartment in an old lady's house and she had her cleaning lady do my apartment and I haaated it but she refused to let me refuse the cleaning lady. It was like, okay lady I just moved out to get some independence and I want to clean my own shit!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't assume they're rich, they just stole this from the "best of year" section of MLIA. So they're incredibly lame, but prolly not rich.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't go on MLIA sorry....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not rich but we have a maid come once a month. She's not there to pick up messes, just do stuff like vacuum and polish; a lot of people who live in a house bigger than a town home commonly have maids.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A lot of people who live in big houses commonly have maids because they're RICH. You may think you're not, but honestly, if you have to money to blow to pay someone to vacuum twice a week, you're rich

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't live in a mansion or anything, I'm in a single family home. I know I'm not poor but don't assume that I'm rich; also I never said twice a week, the normal amount for most people is only once a month

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Only the first half of that was in response to you, that's why i separated it. The second half was a general you. a lot of people commented to having a maid a few times a week. And I said a lot of people, which means i didn't say it directly about you

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh okay; yeah I was pretty surprised when I read others say they had one weekly or more

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've lived bellow the poverty line for most of my life, We are forced to get a cleaning lady because we (my mother and I) are busy working, or going to school. It's a small apartment so it's only $30 a week.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not rich, have maid, she vacuums and dusts and cleans bathrooms, we need to de-clutter the house beforehand so she is able to do her job.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Having a maid is normal you dont have to be rich the only reason i have a maid is because my mom says our house is to big for just her to clean (its not huge shes only one person) and she only comes 3 times a week.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Umm then help your mother clean the house??? Only three times a week? >_< Good grief you're spoiled

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I have school plus home work and a job to raise money for college. I help my mom when i have a chance and 3 times a week isnt alot i have 3 little siblings that make messes all the time. And im not spoiled i work to make money to pay for most of my clothes and had to buy my own car plus the money for gas.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I dont have a maid :/ and if you dont have to be rich to have one , then why dont i have one? im definetly not rich Lol but i like cleaning my room , makes me feel accomplished when i can actually see that floor once a month :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just because someone has a cleaning lady does not mean they are a "spoiled rich kid." Maybe they have hard working parents who are at their job too much to have time? You people are so closed minded

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thank you

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We're not even close to rich and we had a cleaning lady. My mom just had my little sister and my dad was always working/cheating on my mom. Just because having a maid is associated with being rich doesn't mean you have to be rich to have one. Everyone here is so fucking ignorant.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You don't have to be rich to have a cleaning lady. My aunt is disabled and her husband works from 3pm-midnight, and by the time he gets home and helps her into bed it's, like, 1:30 am. They get up at 1 in the afternoon and she doesn't pay her nurse (who watches her when he's a work) to clean. Plus, she has a lot of doctors bills, so they really only have enough money to pay her for once a month.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, um, we are not rich and we have a cleaning lady. And no you racists, she's not black, or hispanic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It pisses me off how people say that if you have a maid, you are a "spoiled rich kid". I have a maid everyday, and I'm not poor..but that doesn't mean that my parents didn't work a LIFETIME to get everything we have, INCLUDING teaching us values, which some people (rich or poor) seem to lack. My parents both work long hours, and me and my siblings have school and extracurriculars to attend to. Its no big deal that my mom hired someone to help her out around the house when there is no time for us to do it. This has certainly nothing to do with being spoiled, and there is nothing wrong with being succesful and having a healthy career.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not a spoiled rich kid, at all, but a woman does come in and clean every week. Not my room, but y'know kitchen and laundry and whatnot. anyway, yeah my mom always tells me to clean before she gets here.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I live in one of the most weathly counties in the country but we arent considered rich for where I live. Yes we are in the top few percent of the country, but in the standards of everyone else, we are normal. So it really depends where you live, and how everyone around you lives. Im not trying to show off, thats just how it is. And if your on this website, that means you have a computer. So you arent homeless...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My family isn't rich at all, but we have a cleaning lady come every few weeks. Both of my parents work, so they don't have as much time to clean. And my brothers and I are all in sports and have homework and can't clean all the time. But we do clean.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ok so I was a cleaning lady for a while and it's not our job to pick up your dirty clothes and cds across your floor. If that is what you want, you better be prepared for a much larger bill. oh and btw for those saying cleaning ladies are always black or Hispanic, I'm a white teenager who was willing to work to get some cash.
