I like how you say this as if you have been studying emoticons for 35 years, trying to uncover the truth behind them. Oh and im not gay, nor am i emo, Yet i still use some smileys every now and again :)

Actually, you're wrong. I am fully secure with my own sexuality in that I fully accept myself for the degenerate faggot that I am. However, I'm not emo. Only an emo kid would be so needy as to resort to constantly informing everyone of how they feel through such juvenile and self-absorbed tactics as the emoticon. Real men are aware of the fact that since their emotions are of little to no consequence, there is no point in expressing them.

I'm not needy lol, but if I'm feeling happy or telling a joke, I will use an emoticon. There's really nothing wrong with it. You're saying emo kids use emoticons...well, the stereotype of emo people is that they're sad, or angry with the world. Why would I be emo if I use emoticons like this :)? Owned :P Stop bitching about this now, or at least stop bitching over a web site.

If you're a girl, and a guy sends you one chances are they have feelings for you. That's what a lot of people I know do. If you're a guy, that's a bit weird. I only send them to girls lol.
