Yeah and no. Like, it is more sociably acceptable for women to act masculine than it is for men to act feminine, especially when they get people questioning their sexuality. But, I think after a certain age (say around 15) a girl will get called a lesbian if she acts masculine or wears typically male clothes. Although I think a woman like that wouldn't care, whether she was gay or not, what others thought about her.

It's messed up when a girl does everything to look, act and talk like a boy, then becomes irate when you mistakenly call her "sir" instead of "ma'am". At least a man doing the reverse would be alright with it, since it's obvious that's what he was going for.
