no mudkipz are over 9000 times better

by Anonymous 13 years ago

For Kanto I always pick Charmander but in Hoenn I always choose Treecko :)

Kanto- Bulbasaur- Good against first 3 gym leaders Johto- Totodile- Just a beast Pokemon. Very useful. Hoenn- Mudkip- becuz i liek mudkipz [Seriously. That is why.]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Bulbasaur is good for the 1st 3 Gyms, but it's weak against the next 3

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah but by the time you reach the fourth badge, you would already have other pokemon that are ready to kick ass.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Anonymous #2 beat me to the punch! By the 4th gym, you should have a Pokemon that knows fire/ice/flying moves. You should be able to find ground/psychic Pokemon by Koga, ghost/dark Pokemon for Sabrina, water/rock Pokemon for Blaine, and a nice variety for Giovanni.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

True, but that means it's only useful for a little while. Venasaur has a lot of weaknesses. That doesn't make it a great starter Pokemon, it just makes the first couple of gyms easier. Oh, and there were no dark types in red

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There were still ghost types.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ghost types are weak against psychic attacks too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's why you need a fast Pokemon. I got a drowzee in SS and was able to beast Morty using pretty much only him

by Anonymous 13 years ago

LULZWAIT. Bad example. If you have a Ghastly and train it really well [and if you're lucky, trade it when it's a Haunter and get Gengar], you will have an amazingly fast Pokemon.

my Blaziken would rape your mudkip

by Anonymous 13 years ago

'course not. Because Mudkip is water and Blaziken is fire. If you have the right moves, Mudkip can assrape Blaziken. Granted, Mudkip would be Swampert and just as awesome...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

of course you are forgetting that blaziken is also a fighting type.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yea but swamperts ground. Good against fighting

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Even if Swampert wasn't ground [as Anonymous pointed out, is good against fighting], water isn't weak against fighting.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

water owns

by Anonymous 13 years ago

fire types are wayyy to overrated. Except for Charmander. Kanto- Charmander Johto- Totodile Hoenn- Treecko Sinnoh- Turtwig New region- they're all crap

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Water pokemon for the win

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Anything but grass type is ok for a starter. I prefer water of the three, though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Water is the best
