by Anonymous13 years ago

by Anonymous13 years ago
hahaha, is it true we sound like were talking through our noses?
by Anonymous13 years ago
lol, kind of actually. But it isn't a bad thing!
by Anonymous13 years ago
hahah. is everyone over there obsessed with American accents like we are when someone with a British accent comes here??
by Anonymous13 years ago
Haha, you wouldn't be obsessed with my accent, It doesn't even sound like I have one. Most of my friends lovelovelove American ones though :D.
by Anonymous13 years ago
is it funny when Americans try to sound British, cause doesnt it just sound awkward/weird.?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yes! It's hilarious, they mostly just sound like they're trying to do a really posh voice and I have never heard anyone talk like that lol. Is it weird when English people try and sound American??
by Anonymous13 years ago
i wouldnt know, ive never actually met someone with an English/ British accent. :(

Dr House , Hugh Laurie

There were a couple actresses on Nip/Tuck who have Brittish accents naturally. I kept on thinking, why do they talk so slow....or why does their mouth look off when they speak? Now that I know they are just copying the American accent it doesn't phase me anymore.
by Anonymous10 years ago
When British people try to do American accents it does sound really nasal, but also kind of like a little kid. Basically the opposite of "posh." Can you tell that Californians and New Yorkers (for instance) sound different, or do we pretty much sound the same to you?
by Anonymous13 years ago
I can tell the difference between the different American accents, but that's mostly because nearly all of the best TV shows and movies come from America so British people are more used to American accents than Americans are to British accents. I'm kindaaa British (but its complicated) but I've now actually ended up with an American accent because I live in China (yeah yeah complicated) which sucks because I'm going to the US for college and I was looking forward to everyone loving my British accent...which is now gone :(
by Anonymous13 years ago
sometimes it's cringe-worthy.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Horrible

Stupid

I hate it when Americans refer to English accents as "British" accents when just referring to the UK. And I especially hate the ones that think we drink tea and eat crumpets and know the Queen.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It doesn't say British accents. American accents will sound different to all parts of the world, not just England.
by Anonymous13 years ago
What the fuck does talking through your nose even sound like 0_o...
by Anonymous13 years ago
like urkel or however you spell it
by Anonymous13 years ago
Haha didnt know we sounded like Steve Urkel xD
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm American also...
by Anonymous13 years ago
I know i was just saying haha :]
by Anonymous13 years ago
Whenever British people attempt an American accent, they go with the "like, ohmygawd! No way!" valley girl accent. We don't all sound like that ^.^
by Anonymous13 years ago
or they do the whole southern/cowboy accent. Its actually really funny sometimes.

by Anonymous13 years ago
Who is it?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Charlie McDonald, a.k.a Charlieissocoollike. He's an English youtube celebrity.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I KNEW IT WOULD BE HIM YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT!!! I love Charlie, he's so cute and funny. Have you seen the Charlie reads twilight? It's so hilarious, but it's Charlie mcdonnell not McDonald
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yes! He seems completely repulsed by that entire book! Haha and I can see why. And yeah, McDonald, McDonnell, they sound the same when said in a british accent xD
by Anonymous13 years ago
Why would they sound any different to us? :/
by Anonymous13 years ago
Fact is a lot of people I know get irritated by the US accents. Some are worse then others but some can be nice. Don't worry, you sound better then the French.
by Anonymous13 years ago
what is wrong with french?
by Anonymous11 years ago
Yeah, not many people like American accents. And I'm pretty sure this post shows the ratio of Americans to everyone else on this site.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I have a northwest accent but live in Florida. I think that the French have a super sexy accent. Brittish accents come in second with a very intelligent sounding accent. As for American accents.....I dislike southern accents because they make the person sound unintelligent. I like New York accents and I try to copy the Boston one. I like the "television" accent the best for America. Like on the news...
by Anonymous10 years ago
i may not be be british, but that nasal american accent sounds like your murdering the language. Ex dance, gold, etc. The way you pronounce those words.
by Anonymous13 years ago
(ArnoldVan Der Walt): you're* Also, we can't help how we talk :P
by Anonymous13 years ago
oops sorry about that. But yeah it's true. You're being raised with those pronounciations and truly it's not your fault. For real. It truly only bothers me for the first few sentences, then i'm just like meh
by Anonymous13 years ago
I love the way the Brittish accent says dance and gold, too!!!:)
by Anonymous10 years ago
I'm British but I've been to America a few times and the really posh, upper class Americans speak with an accent almost identical to the English accent, it's really funny :) maybe that's why Americans think Enlglish accents are posh
