I don't necessarily condone eating competitions BUT just because someone is suffering doesn't mean we should all be without. If we lived by your logic does that mean I shouldn't buy new clothes because some people only have what is on their back? Or should my family not buy a third car because some families can't afford one? I agree as Americans in general we have our priorities out of wack but your argument is invalid.

I get what you're saying but my point was in eating competitions the entire point of it is to over eat, meaning eat more than you want, to get a prize. If you WANT to eat all that food, that's a different story, like if you were at home and just had a desire to eat 200 corn on the cobs. This is one of those times where I know what I'm trying to say but it's not coming across as clearly as I want. But in the end, I know what you're saying, and in some aspects, I agree.

I hate all this starving country crap. Like when people say "Finish your food, there are people starving right now." Okay so eating food helps starving people...? I appreciate the food I have i just dont want to eat it all... And also what should we do with all the food that would be eaten in food eating competitions? Ship it to africa on a plane? I mean seriously its a rather stupid point to raise.
