+535 You can't picture the original Dumbledore drinking that potion, amirite?

What potion? From the movies? Or the one that Snape prepares for him? I see nothing wrong..

The potion in the cave.

Ah, that's no potion. That is a vile drink. And yes, I can definitely see Dumbledore drinking that. Richard Harris isn't the "original Dumbledore." The original Dumbledore is the one in the book, not one portrayed by an actor. Our imagination is far better than what any movie screen can portray.

nope, it's a potion

Wow. I know that. It doesn't deserve to be called a potion, because it's so vile. Try to be smarter, please?

likewise my friend. and you shouldn't accuse the OP of not having an imagination when he/she is just saying they can't imagine an actor do something. or maybe when the OP says the "original dumbledore" he/she means harry's first impression of him: jovial and seemingly indestructible. also, i wasn't aware that the word potion was meant to only describe concoctions of a pleasant nature.

Oh wow. You still don't understand sarcasm/ banter. It is a poison. It's still a liquid, and I suppose, to an extent, a potion, but I was saying it didn't deserve to be called a potion. Are you really stupid enough to think that I meant that OP had no imagination? You really need to actually think about things you write. I said Dumbledore is far better in imagination rather than in the movie. I never criticized OP.

what you don't understand is that labeling something as a potion is not a praise or compliment. one could say that so and so doesn't deserve to be called an actor because they lack acting talent. but, the potion Dumbledore drank, however vile, served the purpose the brewer intended it to have quite well. what i'm saying is that you didn't use the phrase correctly, although i fully understand the implication. it would have made sense if you were referring to a badly made or very weak potion. also note that i'm not trying to degrade you in anyway so i would appreciate if you would return the favor.

According to your own rules, even a weak or badly made potion is still a potion. I was completely kidding. I was saying it was so vile it didn't deserve to be called a potion. Whether or not that makes sense, I was kidding. I would appreciate your using of correct grammar, spelling, and capitalization.
