Well with the draft and the fact that there were from 29 years of war from 1939-1975(WW2, Korea and 'nam) It's pretty much every male that was over 18 during that time.

My grandpa wasn't in any war, but my grandmother left her fiance while he was over seas to be with gramps :/

My great-grandfather was in WWII, I can never remember what he did, though. My grandpa was in the Air Force, but never during any wars.
