+606 Replacing books with ereaders feels more wrong than replacing CDs with MP3 players, amirite?

ereaders are just as easy/comfortable to read, and can hold more information, but they can't replace the feeling of a book between your hands

Or that new book smell...the new book smell is the best.

and the stiffness of a book opening for the first time, or the dryness of a page........

I admit, they're coo; and convenient. However, they can never replace books.

The average American only buys one book a year. I suspect many here are above that, but still probably not more than the range of 5-10, so it's still not a big deal. Some people read 100-300 books a year, though, and it would just be dumb not to. :/

Haha since making this post I got a Kindle. I'm a traitor.

I got one for Christmas... and I also just bought a physical book the other day. The Kindle will never replace real books, but it's a great tool to have. All of the books for my English class this year are on mine, and I got them all for free. It's great!

I like the new cd smell. Exept for one cd which I got the artist to sign. Now it smells like the fangirls who were standing near me and permanent texta :(

Maybe its just because I'm a musician, but nothing will ever replace getting a new shrink wrapped CD for me. Physical media is just something that will never go away, no matter how much downloads skyrocket. I mean come on, they're still selling vinyls for goodness sake. There's a reason for that. They're absolutely amazing to have and to hold and to admire.
